power steering removal??????????

hi, sorry i aint posted for ages sols been running lovely.

anyway my powersteering belt snapped the other day and since then iv'e been driving round with out it and i swear theres more power and it feels a lot better to. the only problem is its really heavey.

is there anyway i can remove the comressor altogether and bypass it and make the steering a bit lighter?

u mean lighter as in less lbs or lighter as in easier to stair. an dit woudl feel liek there is more power cuz u freed up the drag of the power stairign compressor

youl ruin your power steering rack eventually. if you want to get rid of it , get a manual rack. good luck in parking lots when not moving , youl tire of it real quick , lol.

I actually want to know, I've heard of power assist steering which is not the same thing as power steering but what I remember about it is vague and I'm not sure that it was even reliable info. what is, if it is real and different than power steering, is power assist. is it the same. how does it work?
