cranny
did you tighten the tensioner? heres how you do it my man. you want the tensioner loosened only a half turn. you want no slack in between the cam wheel , and crank wheel , on the front side(rad side). than while holding the tensioner , slide the timing belt under it and around the water pump pully. than let go of tensioner. now with that complete , and of course making sure the marks are aligned properly. using a ratchet on the crank pully bolt , turn the engine counter clockwise like 4 teeth , so an inch , not even , than tighten the tensioner bolt. you should be perfect. tensioner bolt not stripped is it? cause that would be bad. AckNasty
On my old DA (90 model) the tensioner spring was shot and would not take up the slack. You might want to check if your spring is taking up the slack. I had to push up on mine to get the slack out and then tighten the tensioner bolt.
