rhgindc
I have a 89 Civic HB with 190,000 miles on it. I'm finally replacing the shocks. I plan on buying some KYB GR-2 struts for it. I'm not modifying the car at all and just want to keep it stock. 1) Do I need to replace the springs also? If I do need to replace them, are there good aftermarket 'stock' springs? 2) If I purchase the struts thru eBay, approximately how much should an average mechanic charge me for labor to install the struts? 3) Are 'mount bushings' a good investment to get also when replacing the struts? Thanks!
Hatch92
1) you don't need to change the springs unless you want to do coil-overs or lower the car. but you said you want to keep it stock. 2)just go to your local auto parts and buy cheao struts from them. or just take it to a garage and ask them how much it will cost for them to put the cheap struts in. 3)mount busings? ar you talkin about the bottom of the strut? if you are then they are part of the strut.
