Kastigir
A BOV only hisses when you let off of the throttle.

turbo_d15b
oh i have one, but its not hooked up yet...its snowing up here in wisconsin...so i took off the intercooler...ran the intake pipe to the downward part of the turbo and just a filter on the turbo spool itself... turbo_d15b
i don't want snow / water getting stuck in the intercooler that's all
mycarsux
Ever heard of a water sprayer on an intercooler? The air in an intercooler travels through tubes that never get exposed to the outside. An intercooler is a heat exchanger and in a heat exchanger... "there are two or more fluids that don't physically touch each other but a transfer heat or energy takes place between them." -source Therefore no phase of water is going to hurt your intercooler. Put it back on. You have nothing to worry about.
sonnyjc3
well since you dont know what its supposed to sound like, its supposed to sound like a sneezing chipmunk. really high piched, not like a kssssh sound with a greddy. its prolly not that loud because its fake. but i dont think the real ones are that loud. but yah, water wont get into your intercooler. put it back on, the colder the air outside - the colder the air inside the intercooler = the car will perform muuuuuch better. are you sure you dont have a cold air intake that looks like an intercooler? Pyrorocketeer
it won't cool your air to below freezing temps.....
mycarsux
The compressed air from a turbo is like 250-300F. No intercooler will drop it down past 32F. Idk how hot air coming out of the IC is but its far from freezing.
