Virgin Honda Owner from Tucson

Just bought a '91 Accord LX wagon as a cheap commuter car. Trouble is, I love it and have spent twice what I paid for it to fix it up. It's very hard to get parts in Arizona, though. Most Accord wagons are in New England. The car is staying stock. An Alpine stereo is the only deviation I've made from OEM.

Thanks for the tips. Since I'm keeping the car stock, the tricky part has been finding good used OEM parts. There aren't too many Accord wagons in junk yards around here. None in Tucson that I'm aware of. Even on eBay, the parts I need (e.g., OEM antenna unit and tonneau cover) are few and far between. The parts locator services on the Internet are worthless. You just get a bunch of e-mails saying "we might have your part, please call us," and when you do call, they don't have what you need. Yes, Honda low riders are pretty big here, so if I wanted to modify my car, I'd be in good shape. I have heard of Midnight Madness but haven't witnessed it yet.

Wait, tonneau covers? I thought those were for trucks....or other bedded vehicles. (probably a noob remark, BFD make fun of me, I dare ya)

I agree, tonneau covers are for trucks. But for some reason everyone uses "tonneau cover" to refer to the retracting piece of vinyl that covers the cargo area of the Accord wagon. "Cargo cover" would probably be a better term.

If anyone knows where I can get a tonneau cover--er, cargo cover--for a 4th gen Accord wagon, please let me know. It needs to be red.

The Honda dealer near me is run by a bunch of crooks. However, I have ordered a few parts from the dealer across town. I broke down and spent $300+ on a new power antenna unit because I read bad things about the universal antennas they sell on eBay. I spent about that much for an OEM door lock actuator. I also ordered a subwoofer from the dealer, but it is nationally backordered until January 9. I'm sure there are good sources for used OEM parts. I will just need to keep looking.

Thanks for the offer. Will let you know next time I'm over there. San Diego is a great place.
