Hondawill
I haven't seen many do what yours is doing. Most of the time they just shift real hard and stop pulling all together. Take it to a reputable honda shop.
Humphries
theres no synchro in reverse so it might just be a really high whining noise getting louder the faster you go right? or if not, then i dont know. the reason it whines is because theres no synchro in the gear to quiet it.. making a whining noise. if that is it, theres no problem. boostedb16
BTW EBP_EM1 Reverse does have a su=yncroniser in it. Most of the time it uses the same syncronsier that 1st uses. The reason that reverse whines when you get up to some speed in that gear is because the gears in reverse have straight cut teeth while every other gear has helie cut teeth. Straight cut teeth gears are stronger and used in alot of race transmissions, drag cars and NASCAR. Have you ever listened to the in car camera on a NASCAR race? The whining you here is the transmission because of the sraight cut gears. The reason that helie cut gears are used in passenger car transmissions is for smoother shifts and quiter rides. Pyrorocketeer
eh...the stronger issue can be debatable some say..... They have more surface area in contact at a set time, than helical cut gears, spreads out the load more. They are just better at taking a beating, because of their design. In essence stronger. Also unless your running dual helical cut gears, or straight you get side load or thrust which = decrease performance also.
