Jim's Sol
Was ran off the road not too long ago, and my Sol got a lil busted up, looking to get it fixed up. It'sa 94 Sol the Dohc 5speed one. Looking to get the passenger door and roof replaced, having trouble finding a front bumper though, any suggestions? i asked my mechanic about aftermarket bumpers, and he said they arn't a good fit and is trouble to deal with, is he just being lazy? >_>
EH6TunerDaniel
Ebay has oem style front bumpers for less than $100.
CleanGSR
No. Aftermarket ones are usually a bad fit. Check out solsociety.com and you'll probably be able to find someone parting out a del sol.
airjordan223
check out a local junkyard, and ebay is good like said above. not many aftermarket bumpers for the sol look good anyway. check out kaminari, the fit is just like OEM but it will be $$$

blackdelsol
if you have any junkyards by you it may be worth a try, sometimes you get lucky and find a sol, there's one in a junkyard here. can't hurt to look.
TS John
Hey, BDS, does that sol in the junkyard have a passenger door in good condition? How much do they want for it? Wanna buy it an sell it to me?
blackdelsol
yea I think so. its black too. but sadly I don't live there anymore. I moved for college. my bad. I'll be there over x-mass for a month though, so I'll see if they still have the sol, last I heard the guy that bought my last sol (totaled) bought it to fix that one. never know. I'll check it out though.
CRG7
Yes, aftermarket (oem-style or not) are usually a bad fit, but can be made to fit if your guy (or you) put the work into it.
airjordan223
heres one, not sure what your budget is. heres one on ebay and another doesnt take much time so search around for the best price
TS John
Yeah, BDS, let me know what if the door's still there, what condition it's in, and what the price is if you can. Thanks.
blackdelsol
price will be $250 for the door, plus shipping. I already requested a price on the driver's side door when I was planning on fixing my old del sol. shipping will probably be a lot.
Jim's Sol
Thanks for all the Feedback, Finally fixed My Sol. Had a long wait on the insurance because i was ran off the road without the other car actually hitting me. Replaced the top and the side door and bumper. Miss my hard plexi-glass top. Other then that, getting a fresh black pearl paint job on it now, back to new hopefully. Have a few new questions, hopefully someone can help me out. I want to get Keyless Entry for my 94 vtech delsol. It doesnt have Power locks to begin with, so im not sure if its even possible. Can someone point me in the right direction? Also i remember reading something in the Forums about wrapping a torn Del sol seat. I remember it saying you can get it done @ a local shop.. Did they mean a regular body shop? Not sure where to look. Thanks again for the feedback when i needed it.
airjordan223
yes you can get a keyless entry. you can get an alarm system such as viper, or clifford, and then also buy some power door locks. i believe the member SolLesHonda did that to his, so if you PM him he should be able to give more specifics. as for the torn seat, you can get them reupholstered. the local shop they were talking about was that kind, not a body shop. if you want something that looks good check out www.autoleathers.com or katzkin.com. or you can always go the cheap route and get seat covers, but they look terrible in my opinion. you should be able to reupholster them yourself, once they send it to you, it just takes lots of time, i helped my friend put his on his accord, and heres some pics of the final product. Jim's Sol
Yeah i went the cheapo route and got seat covers.. but yes, they look like crap on del sol seats, they dont even fit well. I'll check out those sites you mentioned, thanks. And dang... you guys did a good job on those seats, they look damn good.
JapaneseDomesticMarketGSR
keyless entry should cost you no more than $150 at a local alarm spot. I am lucky, I have been going to a local audio wholesale dealer for about five years now ( more than 50% off). At first I had to go with my buddy because he had a license to buy at wholesale, but now the owner knows me well enough to let me in without a license. I was able to buy alarm and actuators for very cheap ( they are what will enable you to have keyless entry). I just had to replace one of the actuators and it costed me $6. Try to find the parts cheap online then pay a local shop to install. I would not recommend using seat covers cause they are cheesy. Just find a local shop. I got mine wrapped for $400. Jim's Sol
Yep found a local re-upholstering shop close by thru the website Airjordan sent me to, thanks alot. Going to check out the priceing on it, looks around $500ish, but well see. They also do keyless entry there so maybe ill knock both out at once. Jim's Sol
Btw, JDM-gsr What kind of sideskirts are those on your sol? My right side stock ones are a bit messed up, do those just attach over them, or do you remove the stock ones?
JapaneseDomesticMarketGSR
I took those off a while ago. They are supposed to be Mugen replicas. They are made out of fiber glass and they cover your stock sideskirts. I will sell them to you if you want. $100 plus ship from Cali.
Jim's Sol
hmm, sideskirts arnt a priorty at the moment, but thanks anyways. also do most of them just cover the stock ones? My freind has some for his VW GTI and he his just sit over the stocks too, and they didnt hold on well. He said they started flapping and wanted to fall off, but maybe he just didnt install them correctly, i dunno. If you still have them by the time i get around to looking @ some side skirts, wel lsee then.
