CleanGSR
Just found out on Wednesday that my wife is indeed pregnant. The suprising thing to us is, they said she's 10 weeks along. I definately didn't think she would be that far along. Anyway, we're definately excited (and a little nervous)
Nancy
congrats!!! im so happy for you. did your wife get morning sickness? i had that sh!t for 6 months, it sucked. anyways, keep us posted with her progress.
CleanGSR
Well, it was kind of wierd. She missed one period all together and after about 2 weeks late she took a prego test and it said she wasn't. So then she missed another period (1st of this month) and took another one wednesday and it said yes. Wen't to planned parenthood to have them do a test to confirm and she's 10 weeks. Don't know why the first test said she wasn't when she would have been a month along by that point, but the doctor said that can happen sometimes. Yeah, she's had morning sickness, but it seems that a morning glass of sprite takes care of that mostly. She's been getting tired much earlier at night too. Also, I had to order her a pizza at 10:00 at night because of a craving. Anyway, I'm super-excited, and a little scared. I just found out that our insurance is going up the first of the year which is going to make our budget even tighter.....something we definately weren't counting on. My wife is going to take only 12 hours next semester and sub on Monday's and Friday's to try and counter the insurance change.
TS John
Congrats, dude. That line about the pizza craving cracked me up. She's just using that as an excuse... I mean, honestly. Men crave pizza 24/7.

CleanGSR
Thanks guys. Yeah, the pizza thing was just an excuse, but I wanted some too and didn't have to admit it. I was able to get brownie points by making her think that I was doing it despite an inconvenience.
Monty
Heh, my g/f is about 13 weeks along, she got pregnant through birth control. Another thing your wife could do for morning sickness is eat some saltine crackers. and about strange cravings, she was worried about them and so I promised to try everything she craved, so she wouldn't feel so wierd about it, I don't think I'm going to keep that up after the orange juice/chocolate ice cream float. It was good, but made me sick.

CleanGSR
Yeah, the pill isn't 100% effective. If my wife gets a wierd craving....she's on her own. I'm not eating some sherbert with chocolate and carmel topping mix. Your orange juice mix actaully made me gag a little just thinking about it. I actually like the combo of orange and chocolate, but my stomach is really weak against citris, so I felt ill.

CleanGSR
Well, yes and no. We're ready with everything besides finances and I have a solution for that. To be honest, I would try and sell my car if I thought I could get what I owe, but I know that's not going to happen. My wife is going to start substitute teaching a couple days a weeks which will bring in an extra $300 a month, all of my detailing money will be going toward the baby (which I'll be stepping up and staying busier next spring with that). Plus once the baby is born, I'll drop my wife on my insurance and sign her and the baby up outside of my work. It costs me $44/month for my insurance (county pays 90%), but they pay nothing on my wife so it costs $450/month for her insurance. We should be able to get insurance for around $250 month for her and the baby through a local insurance agent which will save another $200/month. TO be honest, the financial's are what freak me out the most, but if all these broke rednecks around here can work it out, then I'm confident that we can make it work. TS John
For true, man. You're a smart, resourceful guy. You'll git 'er done, moneywise, I'm sure. Plus salaries will increase when your wife graduates and you do (you're taking night classes, right?)
CleanGSR
Yeah, I'm taking night classes and my wife should graduate one year after the baby's born and our income will almost double at that point (another 30k/year at that point). Don't be fooled. Once I graduate I'll probably be making less money. I'll be going form computers to teaching which will be a drop on the pay scale. It will be worth it though to be with the family all summer and doing what I love.
TS John
Yeah, teaching can pay very little. Both my parents are teachers, and several other members of my family are or have been at one point. Family profession... You just gotta get into the right fields. My dad makes pretty good money since he's a college professor... And my aunt gets bank when she does overtime in Cali... wannaBstuntin
First of all, don't mix orange juice with any dairy products. That's an acid and a base. That's why you would get sick from it. If you want an orangey float, use orange soda and ice cream. But anyways, congratulations Hung! Any preferences on boy/girl? Btw, your sig is sweeeet. Car looks good as always. Anyone would be lucky to buy a car like that with the way you take care of it.
Monty
I know all about acids and bases, but even if I were to eat an orange, I would get sick unless I followed it with antacids or a nice big glass of milk and bread. It's not so much heartburn as my stomach just churns itself stupid till I get ill.

I think we would both perfer a girl for the first, but as long as the baby is healthy, I'll be more than happy.
