Jeffro
2 1/2 would be plenty for a stock engine, any more and you'll be losing out on power. I don't know what is offered for 7th gens as far as brands, though, so I can't help you out beyond the brands already mentioned.
Velocifero
a big thing you want to keep in mind is whether its stainless steel or mildsteel. one of the reasons i chose my system (greddy sp2) was because of that. i live in the northeast, and with the winter fast approaching, i wanted a reliable, long-lasting exhaust to cope the vast amounts of salt they put over the roads when it snows. some systems you cant decide on how large the diameter is. the greddy is 60mm, which comes out to 2.36" alot of systems are like that, unless you get custom pipes. (kteller.com has excellent mandrel bent piping for custom systems.) theres three types of muffler styles: (in order of most restricted) chambered (most restrictive but quietest): rs*r exmag, apexi worldsport 2, stock twin loop aka twin pass (decent flow, decent quietness, good comprimise): Mugen, obx, Hytech, ebay ripoffs straight-thru (most flow, not as quiet): greddy, comptech, flowmaster, tanabe, buddyclub, Many others that said, my straight-thru SP2 has made my h22 sound exactly how it should. is very quiet, sounds stock at idle, but sounds very deep and pleasing everywhere else. you hear the intake more when accelerating at low rpms and at higher rpms you hear mainly motor, which is good. the muffler itself looks pretty sleek. no coconut shooter here. see their website for a pic...for the money ($425 shipped), its the best bet for sound, performance, longevity, and looks. the Mugen twin loop is the absolute best but its like $1200. heres a useful link to help some more. http://www.team-integra.net/sections/artic...p?ArticleID=
