turbo_d15b
so my heat doesn't work...well it does, but it only works now and then...the top hose to the radiator is cool and the bottom hose is also cool to the touch?...could this be the problem of the heat not working properly? cranny
not if his rad hoses are cold when car is running for a while.
boostedb16
After you let the car warm up...say run it at about 2000 RPMS for 5 minutes after cranking does the coolant temputure look like it's about to over heat? Also if the radiator hoses are still cold after this and the car isn't overheating then feel the heater hoses. Two twin hose at the back of the engine bay going through the firewall. If the radiator hosess still aren't hot but the car isn't overheating you need a thermostat. If the car is overheating you need a water pump. If the radiator and heater hoses are both hot you need a heater core.

Chubs
Im guessing maybe a 100 bucks ? Alls it is is a miniture radiator, they are easy as hell to replace also just remove your glove box it is located right behind that.
cranny
dude if your hoses are cold after running the engine you dont need a heater core. its prolly thermostat. if your hoses are under pressure or hard when engine is running , it could be a plugged rad. if the car has no heat inside , but is overheating on the gauge , its thermostat stuck shut. if the car wont heat up , generally its a thermostat stuck open. if the car is overheating after putting a new thermo in and no other prolems found , than id say waterpump.
