if you have the money to go on the trip and cover the cost to put back your car together then hey, go for it.

I have heard mixed reviews about trips to mexico. I'm in texas and i know a lot of people who go for vacation and to visit family. Some say there are shady cops there.

They will ticket you for ANY reason and will ask for money if you want to be let go. If you drive your car through there, and some do here in texas but i know you won't be from oregon, pay someone to watch your car otherwise your car will be gone by the time you get back. If you want your car back, you will pay heavy dollars. say you rent a car over there and get into an accident, the citizens there will ask for money whether its your fault or not. if you get the police involved, of course they will take the citizens fault. Also be careful when walking around alone. There are stories of them jumping you for money/clothes. BE CAREFUL and dont think you're from america and they should treat you like king.

The good stories? I hear you can have a blast in places STRICTLY for tourist. The cost for things is just like the cost of things here in the US and sometimes more. The latina ladies there are beautiful but im sure you know that by watching some of them spanish channels. I know I do!! I do'nt understand a word what they're saying but who cares... :D

Whoa whoa whoa! You live in Texas and you never been to Mexico?!

Of course some urban legends about Mexico are true...cops are shady, especially where ever the US citizens are but IMO, if you keep cool and keep an eye on your surroundings it's a blast. Prolly should head over there before our gov't makes us carry passports to get there.

And yah, you are better off leaving your car in the States than taking one with you.

Chiclet! Chiclet! Chiclet! Awesome times.

i went to playa del carmen last summer, its across from cozumel, and it was one of the best vacations ive had. maybe thats because they had free shots before one of the dinners. the place we stayed at was called villa del puente, i highly reccommend it to anyone planning a vaca there. it was right on the beach, but im not sure if its still there since katrina
