Pyrorocketeer
Here you guys, I found this last night after searching for what grind of cam would best suit my needs for my next build.. This is what I stumbled upon. Cam Doctor I've seen some posts on here about how turbo grind cams aren't really worth it, or.... "I think i should get a stage 2 cam from _______ they seem to be the best" or whatever. But in all reality this is how important cam selection is to an engine, and not just an afterthought. This is what really goes into making cams, and choosing the right one. He has over 350+ dyno'd custom grinds, with anything from NA street, drag, track, offroad, DD, to turbo grinds, to extreme mileage cams (60mpg @120hp). He is just starting research with forced induction, but the vw world will soon see in excess of 550 hp (pump gas). Just thought I'd post this to show some of you whats going on outside the Honda world......

Pyrorocketeer
Just aircooled type 4's as a matter of fact. (Late model busses, 411's, porsche 914's)
..SSR..
The best way to select a cam is... Look at flow sheet and do some math Pick the cams that can make power where your math tells you to Pick some rods that will hold up at that RPM Adjust the CR as needed keeping in mind the gas you will be using Thats a rough guide. Pyrorocketeer
^^^ and thats y I wouldn't buy cams that you custom ground. see he designs all of his cams, not just chooses one for you.
..SSR..
What do you mean you wouldn't buy cams I custom ground. What I posted is the way you're supposed to choose a cam when building an engine.
That Guy
VW's have boasted 550+ HP several times, its not coming in the near future, its been around for awhile. thats like saying 200WHP N/A B16's are coming soon.

SolLesHonda
This thread started out with some good info, then slowly started fading. I would agree for the most part on ..SSR..'s reasoning for cam selection.
..SSR..
Agree for the most part? Thats how all Honda race engines are built. A lot of street engines too.
