thinking of building a civic

so i've had a honda accord for a while and i am now looking to build a civic starting sometime in April or maybe in the summer and its time to start doing research

im planning on buying a 93-96 hatchback or coupe shell and upgrading it.

my question is what motor to go with. i am wavering between a b16a, b18b, or b18c1. my plan motorwise is to have a civic with low 200+ hp at the wheel after upgrades of course. just want a fun, stable, daily driver that is CA smog legal. then add a turbo later...i will most likely be doing this just not at the very moment so which motor would be best with a turbo.

help and advice is much appreciated :D .

well if you want it to be smog legal you need to get the same generation motor. and take it to the state referee. i just bought a 94 hatch last night and im putting my 95 gsr motor into it.

ooh idea ♥ do a eg cx hatch with an n/a b18c5. or do the same thing with a boosted b16b.

but as far as your question goes, the best motor that you listed for boost is the b18c1.

Both of those engines are not needed.

Your years are off too. It's 92-95 or 96-00.

Just get a 92-95, put in a D16Z6 along with a Edelbrock turbo kit. Now put in a 4.7 final drive. There is 170whp.
