I may be taking a break from modifying cars for a little while and get some more photography stuff, like a fisheye lens, flashes, and a different range lens or two. Staying away from modifying is hard though, it's a damn drug.

I'm not really saying they suck, more the fact that I've shot better. Lighting conditions, my mood, and whatever else, effects how I shoot. It isn't always a "I messed up situation," but a "I did what I could, but am not too pleased."

I don't see why everyone thinks you need a $200 intake. An intake pipe is an intake pipe, they are all "knock-offs" of each other. Someone made a good design and people followed it. The pipe might be a different material, a little thicker, so what? It all has the same bend and does the same function, it is the filter that makes the difference. Sure, you can have an intake that is a piece of crap and bent wrong, but look at my eBay intake against a name brand intake, looks the same, just a little "cheaper" feeling and no name plastered on it.

i completely understand where youre coming from. but for me, if im going to be putting something on my car, especially on the motor or suspension, im not going to cheap out. aem has spent millions of dollars developing their intakes and i trust them. you may be right, and they are doing the exact same thing, but id rather not take the risk. someone with money should dyno their car with it stock, ebay intake, and aem, to see the actual difference/

Well, it's like saying something along the lines of:

 

Why buy a Blox or AEBS intake manifold when Skunk2 is better?

 

or

 

Why buy Omni Power when Tein is better?

 

or

 

Why buy Rota when Mugen is better?

 

Things go both ways, when people buy expensive ass crap like Mugen, Spoon, and the like when they could have bought knock-offs for cheaper. Like me personally, I bought eBay intake for the reason of I didn't give a crap and wasn't going to spend $200+ on a AEM intake that would do the same job. In the end I plan on getting a J's Racing carbon fiber intake or the Mugen airbox.

i got my aem cai for like 127 i think so it wasnt bad. but youre saying in the end, youre going to get J's racing or mugen, so why not just save the money instead of spending it on the ebay intake, and get the J's one sooner.
