96civic
dude, that is so simple. wire it to a ground wire. thats what i though..i grounded it right to the frame..does that mean wire it to an exsisting ground
Rick B.
wire it to an existing ground wire. otherwise it wont work. you can put more than one wire onto a ground.
Pyrorocketeer
nope, won't work with most of them..... alpine in particular. you can buy a box that with do it Alpine needs to detect, brake, pull hand brake, then release brake in order for mine to come on. kinda gay, so I bought the "black box"
Rick B.
with my screen, all i had to do was wire it to a ground to bypass the brake. and it works fine.

Pyrorocketeer
Just don't get caught, because I'm pretty sure thats illegal in all 50 states to have a screen within view of the driver.
Rick B.
its illegal if the driver is watching it. but the thing is, cop cars have their laptops right next to their stearing wheels so they can see it. ive been in the backseat enough to notice that. if you have a passenger in the car with you, im sure you can get away with it. if you get pulled over, push the button that puts the screen away. 96civic
well i dont understand that, becuase even the tuner/cd section plays wallpapers, but thats alright? why doesnt that have a warning on that...something to think about
Pyrorocketeer
That isn't like actual video that you can get distracted for long periods of time by. (you don't sit there and watch the wallpapers and stuff, as you would a movie) And nope, if it is within view of the driver it is illegal. Laptops are different, and they aren't watching movies. But yeah, just push the button and put the screen down......
