92civic
Ok, I am very new to the import thing(usaully a v-8 guy) so I don't know jack about them, all I know is I need more power! Heres what I got,1992 honda civic hatch back with the 16v 1.5L sohc. Just got it about a week ago so pretty much stock w/ a cold air intake for now( I plan on geting a header and an exhaust for starters) I was wondering if there are any heads off a different engine that would bolt on and gain some hp? Maybe like a 2.2 head ,a vtec head,or a 1.6 dohc head? I can get heads dirt cheap from a guy I know at the bone yard so...... But I just don't know what to do? Or is there any thing else that would gain cheap hp? Any input will be apreciated. Thanks.

..SSR..
If you want cheap power, get a D16Z6 intake manifold. Thats from a 92-95 Civic EX. Get a spare head (D15B7, which is what you have), and send the camshaft to Deltacam and have them do their 272 regrind on it. deltacam.com is their website. Get a D16Z6 transmission. Those 3 things will take over a second off your 1/4 time.

..SSR..
around 15-20 or so at the crank which would be about 16 at the wheels

92civic
Thanks, chicotuner, that helps alot. I think I might have to make a midnight run to the junk yard.......LOL I am assuming this will give me even better gas milage? That would be sweet. I am assuming I can grab the ecu out of the same car I am getting the head from?
92civic
What kind a hp do you guy's think it will put out with a v-tec head, headers, and exhaust, and a cold air intake? Hopefully at least over 100 ponies! I think there stock like 74hp. Could you shave the v-tec head for more compression? Thanks.
Hatch92
the 1.6l vtec head alone should put you over 100hp to the ground.
90Tegtyper
i would just get a 16z6 motor and biuld it a little bit, or you could just do the minime swap and get a nice cam, and nice valves, springs, retainers that adds good hp, also to make it feel faster get a better tranny ex or si tranny vx asnd cx are junk they are hella long, my friend has one and 1st gear is to like 30 2nd is to 50 he dosent use fifth so if i was you i would get a better tranny also
92civic
Tranny is out of the question for now. I just am doing minor bolt ons. I need this thing to drive to work. The head is easy,I bought it real cheap cause it needed a head gasket and I changed it in like an hour. So I should try to get a 1.6 v-tec head? I think 100 hp at the wheels would be a big jump from 74 hp at the crank!,plus a header intake,exhaust........ How do you tell wich head is wich?
