mycarsux
Do it dude. Cover the parts you don't want painted with newspaper and tape. Make sure you use only the best of high-temp paints. good luck and have fun with it.

TS John
Didn't this use to be called, "Wanna paint my cam"? And now it's head? If it really is your valve cover that you wanna paint then deffo take it off. It takes 20 minutes max even if you've never done it before.
cranny
inhibits alluminums cooling capabilities. having paint over it. but you can do it.
mycarsux
I assumed taking the valve cover off was the first thing. What I meant was, before sonny the crackhead threw everyone off, was that you cover like the letter on your valve cover that don't want to get painted, like if it says VTEC. Of course you take the valve cover off. I'm not dumb.
Humphries
make sure the car isnt driven for about a day. it needs to cool so the bolts dont expand and break in the holes. i painted mine.. pics are in the images section.

Humphries
its easy.
cranny
first degrease the valve cover , clean it good. if you wanna not paint the letters , a cool idea is to sand them with 240 grit paper until you get grime and worst off , than sand with 400 paper , than sand with 600 paper , than sand with 1000 paper , now your letters will look like chrome. than tape them off. now scotchbrite pad the entire cover , edge to dge , every crevice , than silicone wash it , get all oils off. than prime it. than sand the primer with 600 grit paper till smooth. than paint it(light coats do better work for those who put too much paint on at once). than peel your tape off the letters and kapow , a bomb valve cover. good idea to clear coat the entire thing after that , letters and all.
