cranny
well i finally ran into a deal i couldnt refuse. a buddy a mine that has a talon TSI , i helped him fire an engine(2.0 dohc) in it the other day which was his 3rd one!! cause he cooked the other 2 running the car not setup properly. well it lasted oh about 200 km's , lol kaboom. 3 motors cooked. so hes decided to give up on boost and talons , lol. so me being the good buddy i am i bought the turbo(mitsu) , wastegate , manifold , injectors , and downpipe with O2 sensor still in it. couple other things from him for 200 bucks cause he was sick. turbo comes with 2 size compressor housings. awsome deal anyways. so im starting a D17 turbo build. making my own manifold out of stainless. in the market for a FMIC. my only concern is fuel managment. so ive read so far AEM is only company that makes anything so far for it and its stand alone unit that costs new , over 2000 american. well fuk that crap , scam artists. i also hear that the ECU running my car has the ability to recognize changes made by me and compensate unlike other generation hondas. so basically i can fire 550cc injectors in it and run boost and the car will compensate for the added air. any help would be appreciated guys if you know articles or people that have done one. like i said fuel managment my only concern everything else is no problem. SolLesHonda
Get Hondata or Neptune. Your ECU will attempt to compensate but won't do as well as the a piggy back system. I say Hondata.
geissler
im a big fan of neptune so i would say go that route

SolLesHonda
It will work Cranny. Hondata or Crome (No H) or Neptune will be great. If you can afford the AEM, get it. It'll be the last ECU program you'll ever buy, and it's easy as hell to do.
xxscaxx
standalone > piggyback. too bad they are expensive as crapttttt.
03civda
The sad thing is, Cranny is correct. None of those companies offer anything for the D17. If you want to run boost on the D17, your best bet is Greddy E-manage or E-manage Ultimate. I know it's not the best in the world, but it beats paying $2000 for AEM EMS. The D17 is the outcast of the Civic world and it's hard to find things that will work correct with it. Most guys on boost are running VAFC (which I wouldn't do) or E-manage. Good Luck! cranny
thanks dude , im also lookin at modifying a D16Y8 intake manny to fit on the D17. have read about it other places and supposedly it can be done. im thinkin i been workin on cars long enough , if it can be done , i can do it , lol. have also been looking into B swap options but i see no mount kit available for swapping a B into my generation. the wiring dont scare me , piece of cake to turn my car into OBD1. not piece of cake to custom fab a set of engine mounts , and axles , and shift linkage , lol. damn cables , lol
EH6TunerDaniel
WHOA! For some reason I always thought you had a B16B, I dont know why.
cranny
ahhh , i only wish dude , id have it pushin 275 at the wheels with not an aftermarket change to the exterior , hehe. love that.
03civda
I know of a guy that did the conversion on his D17. It was a lot of work. As far as doing the B-series swap, you are right about the custom fabrication, and there would be a lot and it's definitely not worth it (dollar wise)! Hopefully you can move forward with the turbo. I would think thats the best option at this point.
cranny
im defintely goin boost for sure. i bought the car thinkin i was gonna get into a K swap but had a baby short time after , hahaha. still have aspirations for a K swap its just gonna take longer so , boost will have to keep the demons subsided for now , hehe. thanks alot for insight 03.
