sohcVTEC-E Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 My 97 HX burns oil at WOT. My car is almost fully broken in, I've got 99,700 . I don't think its anything to worry about since the engine almost has 100,xxx miles on it, and its not that bad, its just a little puff. Anyone else have this problem and should I be worried?
cranny Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 if you were to hold a can of oil in your hands , and i shook you up and down 8 thousand times a second , hahaha , do you think you would drop some?hahaha. sorry thought it would be funny. if your car still got all its power than its fine but a sign of your engines age. eventually , you will need new valve seals and rings.

That's pretty funny but a great explination. Sounds normal, I guess the real question is how much less oil is on the dipstick because of that little puff?
cranny Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 good question i guess but i doubt it goes down that much.
Double0EK Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 my $00.02 Try changing your oil to Royal Purple. It slowed my oil burning dow considerably. I know it sounds wierd but it did. Just give it a shot.
