NO NOTHING GRINDS EVERYTHING IS PERFECT
no need for CAPS. while dring your vehical, are your driving during high rpms? if so that is normal?

did you do any repairs prior when this happen? also was this just recently that it makes this "whining?"

no i drive at like 2 or 3 grand like normal driving. and its not that loud but i notice the little things. its kinda done it since i got it but not that bad, but i can notice it now. My friend was racing my car and speed shifted from 2 back to first and tires locked up but nothing happened, he pushed the clutch back in right away

if you think the transaxle is low on oil, what you need to do is check the fill plug. the fill plug can easily be reached in the engine bay, it may be a little trickey to open, you may need to crawl down and get a 17" open ended wrench. when you take it out, stick your pinky in. if you do not feel any fluid, you can used 10w30, i believe for honda civics that is OEM spec, if you want to drain it, the is a 3/4inch socket drain plug a few inches lower of the fil plug. the tranny holds apoximently.. 2-3 quarts.

or if anything try to get some sycromesh, its an additive that reduces noise, geands and stickieness.

naaa not a final drive , its just a 3/8 inch ratchet with no socket to get the drain plug out. 10w30 is what it takes. id say if you have a whine in your tranny its most likely a pilot bearing but i could be wrong. definitely check your fluid right away though.

Well that happened to my dads truck with a built 350, and to on of my friends that has a Acura Integra LS... both of them were whining really bad, the truck sounded like it had supercharger(haha!) and the Integra just sounded like crap... but both of the tranny's on the truck and the Teggy dropped out while driving, I was driving the Truck when it happened because my car was in the shop getting the B16A swap... and it wouldnt have happened to the integra if he wouldnt have lowered the car soo damn much and hit a BIG bump... all i say is just be careful whatever you do man! It could be alot of things, I just hope its not your tranny going out on you...>_<
