juicesintegra Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 ok, i have a crx with a b16a in it....im going to buy a b16a2 block cause its built and im getting a good deal on it....what all do i have to do for that to work right??? different wire harness stuff? cable/hydro tranny or whatever? what i have now is b16a stock everything and i was just going to swap the block. i searched this question on all kinds of websites but didnt really answer with details... help if you can, thanks alot.
blackdelsol Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 do you have the JDM si crx with the cable tranny and 160 hp, or the SiR II with 170 hp and a hydro tranny(swap)? it should work no prob if the latter.
cranny Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 i dont get what your sayin delsol doesnt make any sense to me. what the hell is a jdm si crx with 160 horse?a crx never came with a B series engine even jdm models could be wrong i guess. the b16A with 170 horse is a JDM engine. as long as the wiring harness and ecu and head of your B16A thats in it now is still utilized which it will be youl be fine. take your engine out swap your head and tranny onto your bottom end and put it back in with distributor you already were usin. cable/hydro tranny or whatever?? i assume by the way you say this your not sure but cable is cable clutch and hydro is hydrolic clutch. you want hydro tranny of course but it has nothin to do with what your doin as your usin same tranny as whats in there. ps. while you have it apart is a good time to check your throw bearing clutch and so on while its accessable.
CleanGSR Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 91 CRX SiR (JDM) came with a B16A. Just a little FYI.
cranny Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 so it did my bad good call delsol. not that its any huge difference but it came with a B16A1 , not a B16A. but like i said different year same engine pretty much. but i highly doubt the guy has a car that was only available in japan. in any matter , sounds like hel have a half decent engine in that car depending on whats exactly done to that bottom end.
