hi. i jst want to know which CRX i should buy to do a motor swap with? i now currently have a 1g eclipse, and getting tired of it. i now want to go to the honda world. also, which is the best motor to drop in it if i was to boost it?

i already have read that topic but im jst curious of which crx is best to be motor swapped with (lightest, easiest to swap with, etc.) performance-wise isnt important because i am planning to do a swap once i get the crx. 1 more thing, ive been reading alot of topics, and one engine has been showing up and is popular to all u honda enthusiasts, the "LS-VTEC". im wondering how much the cost of that will be. im also aware of that motor being a frankenstein because of parts pieced up together. im not in a hurry so please take ur time to help me out.

the 2nd gen crx.. also if you want the best in lightest year that would be the 1984 hf, what you want is either the 90-91 CRX Si or the 88-89 CRX HF

90-91 looks overall the best, but if you find a great deal on the CRX 88-99, just get JDM headlights, tails, JDm front bumper. ands its a pretty work of art, which looks like a 90-91, what most peoople doo.

my 2 cents

thanks for answering my first question. i got that. but what about my other question.

"1 more thing, ive been reading alot of topics, and one engine has been showing up and is popular to all u honda enthusiasts, the "LS-VTEC". im wondering how much the cost of that will be."?

and would dis motor be good to be boosted or should i stick with a b16?

i am having ideas of getting a b18c1 and get it boosted because im still learning the "honda ways of engine swapping" :drew:

Keep your Eclipse for a while and go buy a CRX now just with no motor. Just go buy the CRX Shell(no motor), and IMO the best motor for a CRX would be either a JDM B16A or USDM B16A3 they're light, have good revv, and VTEC kicks in quick 5,000-5,500 RPM. I mean a guy down the street from me is selling his CRX shell for $250 and I'm thinking about buying it and putting in my old motor(D15) so i can have something else to play with

The LS-VTEC is a LS motor with a B16 head

Honda never made a LS-VTEC, its a do it yourself thing.

No it's not.....not always. It's an LS motor with a vtec head. can be a B18C1 head or a B16 head.

yeah thats true, but isnt it better to use a B16 head? or at least thats what I've heard?!?
