adamEj6 Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 alright i am a little confused on my motor and some stuff is missing.....i know for a fact that i need a wiring harness and two motor mounts but i was curious as to since it is a b18b block and a gsr head that would i be able to use a ls wiring harness and wire up vtec or would i have to use a gsr wiring harness, i was told the head was from a 94-95 gsr and thats the wiring harness i need but i also have been told differently from other people...any help please
adamEj6 Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 it would be great if someone could reply with something helpful as i do not know crap about motors
SolLesHonda Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Use the GSR harness. If you know nothing about motors, why are you building an LS VTEC ?
adamEj6 Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 its already built, im just missing crap
cranny Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 just make your life easy and stick with the harness that goes with your head and distributor. you may be able to use diff year gsr harness though youd have to research it. stay away from the 92-93 gsr cause it came with a B17 and i dont know if that will work for you or not. i know that most B series engines are in essence the same setup so.
adamEj6 Posted February 27, 2006 Author Posted February 27, 2006 alright cool i just need to find somewhere with a harness then
cranny Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 what you mean built it? its puttin a head on, lol. you guys ever change a head gasket? i mean i know theres more involved but not much mechanically.
CleanGSR Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 There's more too it than just slapping a head on. Granted you don't have to fully build it, but you are building/creating an ls-vtec. I think that's what he meant. Who built/put it together.
cranny Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 like i said i know theres more involbed B16 not slappin anyones face , but its not a hard thing to do for anyone with a workin knoledge of hondas.
CleanGSR Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 I know and I'm not arguing with you, just saying I think by built he meant put together and not necessarily "built".
..SSR.. Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Putting a VTEC head on a stock B18B block = stupid.
