CleanGSR Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Somebody mentioned google earth yesterday in the forums, so I went and downloaded it and checked it out. This thing is friggin awesome. I can zoom in anywhere in the world. I was just zoomed in looking at some bunker looking thing in Iraq, zoomed in on the Pyramids of giza, vadican city. Great Wall of China. Hey Yuenlester, give me your address and then go outside and wave....(just kidding).
SolLesHonda Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 I wish it was live, but then again, that would be creepy. I have Google Earth, but in some parts there is this green haze, because the satellite didn't get it all.
CleanGSR Posted February 24, 2006 Author Posted February 24, 2006 Yeah, but it's still pretty cool. I've been messing with it all day. I can't find the great wall of china though damnit. I looked at Malaysia and there is seriously nothing there. It looks like that country has a ton of undeveloped land.
EH6TunerDaniel Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 when i get home i will have to download it
JDM_Hamster Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 i have it at school and i looked at my house the other day... i think its cool but kinda creepy at the same time... ayy everybody if you want to check out my house the address is 2327 Floyd Avenue Murfreesboro Tennessee...:-"
EH6TunerDaniel Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 is it up to date? i know the terraserver is like really old, i wanna spot like my car or sumthin
SolLesHonda Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 No, it's not because my neighbors don't have the pool in there backyard in the pic, and it was a while ago they had that.

Humphries Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 its from like 10 years ago because my neighborhood is just being built in that pic on it. p.s. i have google earth.
CleanGSR Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 It's not that old. There's a duplex that was built two houses down from my parents 2 years ago and it's on there.
mountaindewguy Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 its from different times, not just the same year. i looked at the house i just moved out of and my old car was sitting in the road... that was less than 3 1/2 years ago...
DJB98LX Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 My father in law got me hooked on this a few weeks ago. I love it. Using it for directions is way better than anything else. I read the pics vary from a year to two depending on the area. Some areas they don'teven take close up images though. In Africa, you can actually zoom super far down on hurds of animals. I found a pool of hundreds of Hippos in the mud just chillin! I was really bored!!!
sup Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 I've been meaning to download it, and this thread reminded me to. It would be nice if they updated the maps.
