651er Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 I have a 1993 Honda Accord LX with about 175k miles on it. It still runs "ok", I guess but I bet it'll only last me a few more years. My heat died on me a month ago. When I turn the knob right or left, I get no air what so ever. When my goes 60-70 mph, the force of my car pushes what little "hot" air through my vents to defrost my windows, in this freezing Febuary wheather in Minnesota. Sometimes the heat will kick back in for a day or two, and then it would die out again. It's done this maybe 2 or 3 times now since January. Whats wrong with my car?!?!
Humphries Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 might be the a/c needs to be recharged. get the shop to check it out for you.
Draconis91EX Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 you know i had a similar problem on an 88 MX-6 I had I turn on the heater and the fan wouldn't even come on... turns out i needed to add more coolant... dont know if that will help you or not, enjoy
Drew Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Try pulling the knob off and seeing if the knob itself isn't broken, which is why when you turn it, nothing happens. It is extremely common for the heater knobs to break inside. So common infact that if you go to a junk yard to find replacement knobs, you won't find any. If the center part inside is cracked open, you can super glue it or something. For the time being, take the other knob off and use it back and forth for both controls. Otherwise, your the fan seems to be the problem. There may be a fuse for it, not sure.
