Will Vtec work hooked to a MSD switch?

the ECU is a 90 civic 3 door si....does that ECU even know what vtec is...(i dont think so) going for a Dyno on friday, i guess i'll find out then.

If you hooked up the RPM activator switch up correctly, It will turn on. I believe you can adjust the RPM's to engage Vtec with it too..You may be running v-tec at like 500 rpms, thats why your not feeling it

yeah, I'd probably spread BS if I didn't know what I was talking about too.

 

VTEC might engage, but without a VTEC ECU, it won't do anything. a non-VTEC ECU has no idea what to do when VTEC engages. fuel, timing, oil pressure, and other things will be way off.

find out what year your engine and distributor is and get the ECU that corresponds to it is my suggestion. Get the proper engine wiring harness i would suggest as well unless it is.
