sha0linzer0 Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 in my car the stock cd player is located towards the bottom right above the drink holders. however the cd controls are located in their normal spot. ill be installing an in-dash mp3 player soon, where exactly does it go? and what does this mean: Installation Details for your 1997 Civic » Because of the factory keyless entry system in your vehicle, you will need to keep the factory radio in the vehicle and relocate it behind the dash. Detailed instructions are provided when you purchase a receiver from Crutchfield.
TLontheDL Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 Get a headunit with a mp3 player included. Most decks are already mp3 player friendly anyhow so just replace your stock unit with an aftermarket one.
sha0linzer0 Posted February 19, 2006 Author Posted February 19, 2006 yeah, thats what im doing. im getting a cd player that plays mp3 cds like my old one that got stolen. it just seems like a weird place to put it if its where the cds go now.

Frog Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 BUZZZ!!!!! someone please reply its a pain to hide a radio in the dash
Kastigir Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 BUZZZ!!!!! someone please reply its a pain to hide a radio in the dash Honestly...it tells you that the keyless entry works through the radio, and removing it will cause it to no longer work. Something of that nature, I would just take to a reputable shop and have them deal with the problem.
CBRF4i Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I just cant answer to everything on this forum. . especially when it comes to stock crap. When I get a car the stock alarm gets ditched right behind the stock stereo system. So there is no way I can sit here and tell anyone how to bypass or troubleshoot stock alarms. . . GPS systems. . . Stock radio error codes. . etc. . . In my mind, its stock. . its worthless
speedfreek09 Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 there is a specific harness that hooks into the factory radio and has the wires to hook into the aftermarket also it maintains the factory keyless entry in the factory radio by powering it up. if you dont use this harness the factory keyless entry will not work.
tallhamer88 Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Maybe you should just fork out the money and have someone install it professional like best buy or something
