hondaking98 Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 In the 99-00 si i have noticed that the gears on them dam things or so short and it really sucks. What does anyone recommend for a good tranny that would be worth the money especially one that can hold up
CleanGSR Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Shorter gears means faster acceleration. B16 tranny is great.
SolLesHonda Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 +1 .. B16 trannies rock. If you must have a longer geared tranny, get the LS .. but you will hate it.
06siJudd Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 The new 06 si also has a close ratio. I really like it for the get up, but I can see what you mean in traffic it can be annoying. I'm at 15mph in first (not full throttle) it pulls about 6k rpm.

cranny Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 also makes car alot harder on gas. at 65 mph a B16 setup will be revvin close to 4 grand in 5th gear.
CleanGSR Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Not harder on gas, but yes I am at about 4000 at around 70. I still get an average (city and highway) of 30 mpg and 32 mpg all highway.

Its annoying when your tryin to just cruise down the highway and listen to ur tunes cruisin at about 4000rpms and it get real loud and obnoxious especially with that exhaust system
