Blackoutt Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 This is for anyone that really knows about the B16 A2. I am building my Si and I am trying to get the most hp out of my Si. My spending limit is $4500 on the motor and $4000 on the turbo setup. I was thinking of crower stroker kit and and good drag generation 3 turbo setup but I was reading a thread and people were like its not good to stroke a B16 because it is a waste of money.I saw a stroker kit that would put my B16 at a 87mm bore and a 84mm stroke. I have also heard that a B16 A2 should stay where it is at as far as the stroke. I am just looking for ideas. I am also have a NX N-tercooler kit that I haven't put on yet.
xalexjx@yahoo.com Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 talk to ssr...also go to jegs.com ,,,they have some good qaulity parts for a dectent price., stroker kits are expensive and not needed unless you are building a 350hp+ engine build the engine completely..i would get a new cams, have ssr build a kick ass tranny, serious boost, port and polish, lower the compression(if you boost)..is the 4500 including buying the engine?
CleanGSR Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 based on his budget, he should easily hit over 350whp. Stroker kit is still not really needed though.
Blackoutt Posted February 16, 2006 Author Posted February 16, 2006 It really doesn't matter. I can spend 8 grand on the motor or I can spend 8 grand on the turbo setup with the internals. I am just looking for the best setup to get the most out of the car and still be able to drive it everyday
CleanGSR Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Well here's what I will be doing in a couple of years when I build mine up for turbo. I'll be getting a equal length turbo manifold, building my own turbo setup with probably a .60 trim T04E or a GT series turbo. Turbo setup should run around 4k. Engine, upgrade the pistons, rods, valvetrain, cams, hondata S200 w/ boost. and all the little stuff that go's with it. 14 psi daily and 18-20 psi track. This would be under 8g total if you can do some of the work yourself. Look at SolLesHonda's new setup. His is on a d series, but the setup should be the similar with a B, just parts for the B instead of the D and maybe different compression etc.
Blackoutt Posted February 16, 2006 Author Posted February 16, 2006 So as far as the setup for either one. What would be the part names so I can research them. I want to push the most out of my motor
CleanGSR Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Check out full-race.com and look at the brands they use. Then just search for them and see what you find. Turbonetics, Garrett, Tial, HKS, Hondata are just a few of the good companies for turbo parts.
Blackoutt Posted February 16, 2006 Author Posted February 16, 2006 Ok I saw the full-racing turbo kits but what do I need to do to the internals to keep from blowing my engine.
CleanGSR Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 He doesn't need to sleeve it unless he's building 500-600 hp. For 350-400whp the stock sleeves will be fine.
dday93si Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 maybe 350 -400 if it's tunned but if it detenates byby stock sleeves and i doubt it would last long as a daily
xxscaxx Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 talk to ..SSR.. you have a good amount of money for a build. actually a very good amount.
xxscaxx Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 also, i put my turbo setup together for about 1500 with my old del sol. if you play your cards right, you will have a kickass built b16 turbo. something i wish i would have done, and will on my future build.
dday93si Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 if u sleeve it and run some good pistons and crower or manley rods it will make alot of power depending on the tune and u would have more to play with hp wise and if u wanted more power down the line u could do it no problem and it would only cost around 2500 for the bottom end also i would run a precison turbo like a sc61 and a precision intercooler
..SSR.. Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Stock sleeves are good for over 600whp if tuned good. 500whp if not tuned good. SC61 is way out of date. If you want a build, PM me. I'll build it for you.
Blackoutt Posted February 16, 2006 Author Posted February 16, 2006 What is the site that the neptunes ems is on.
dday93si Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 ok so get a gt35r maybe to much for his setup evans-tunning.com for the neptune i'd like to see a 500 hp b16 with stock sleeves and it last a few passes noway withoput tunning it jr
xxscaxx Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 search it. when i wanted to tune my del sol i talked to a guy in pennsylvania and he said its 100 bucks for Neptune, then 50 to chip my ecu and 400 for unlimited dyno time and tune. he also said that it had many more options than hondata. that was my choice of EM if i tuned my old sol.
dday93si Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 he wants to build a 400 or so and he has the money why not sleeve it and it hold
dday93si Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 u should be able to get a neptune for around 250 and get a p28 socketed for around 75 and a obd2 to obd1 harness for 75 to 100 plus it comes with all the options already
Blackoutt Posted February 16, 2006 Author Posted February 16, 2006 Kool so do you think I can get all this stuff for about 6 or 7 grand. That is the tubro setup and the internals?
dday93si Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 ya i don't see why not, but i would definitely go with a neptune. I don't know where your located but there should be a neptune dealer near you.
Blackoutt Posted February 17, 2006 Author Posted February 17, 2006 What about these pistons with the eagle H beam rods --Honda/Acura B16A (available in standard or .020 overbore and 9.0:1 or 10.5:1)? GOOD?
SolLesHonda Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Hondata > Neptune. Eagle H rods are great, I have them in my D.
Blackoutt Posted February 17, 2006 Author Posted February 17, 2006 Ok what about these pistons with eagle H beam rods --Honda/Acura B16A (available in standard or .020 overbore and 9.0:1 or 10.5:1) and the Full-race stage 2 AC (530hp) kit. Is that good what else do I need or what do I need to change?
