soulwarden Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 I have an 06 Civic EX and I'm planning on making a custom intake. The only problem is the air sensor... Is it possible to cut the air sensor out of the filter box and ghetto rig it to my custom intake??
Pballer2005 Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 depends, i'm not sure about the setup on your car but as long as the tube is the same diameter as the one the air sensor was in originally you'll be fine. oterwise, if your tube is wider than your air sensor is long then there will be air moving past that it wont detect, therefore it will think its not getting enough air, when in fact its really getting more, and your engine will run really rough, if it runs at all. i tried it in my ford ranger and it would barely idle and it kept opening the the intake valve farther than it was supposed to and dyeing cus it was running too lean.
