shishpanik
Supposedly The RSX will be discontinued after the 2006 model. I heard this from my friends dad who works at an acura dealership. Am I just really far behind? Or is this news to you? I'm not quite sure if this is true or not, has anyone else heard about it? I'm not trying to start rumors i just heard this from a trusty source. CleanGSR
I bet it's only discontinued here. They'll probably keep the integra in japan. It seems like the new SI has run it's bigger brother off pretty quick. Sad to see. Of course that link you posted says it's getting a complete redesign on the new civic's chassis. That would mean a revamp, not discontinuation.
B16A3 Del Sol
they should keep the RSX/Integra i think that they are clean as hell!!! I'd rather have one of them than a new Si... IMO...
shishpanik
I don't know... I think an Si is a much better value than a base RSX. If you buy a base RSX you are paying more for the name than for the performance/luxury.
CleanGSR
Yeah, but you can buy a RSX type S for only 2k more than the new civic si. I'd rather have the RSX type s and get so much more luxury with your style and quickness.
BuddySol
It's no big secret that Honda has been trying to add prestige to the Acura nameplate. Acura's image is in need of a fixing and many blame it on the lack of a V8...lack of RWD...lack of everything that makes a luxo brand. Because of this image dilemma, I can think of three things that would mean the end for the RSX: 1. Infiniti ditched their subcompact, the G20. Then they introduced a serious contendor with the G35 and all of a sudden Infiniti became a player in the luxo market. 2. Acura and Honda are quite unhappy at the large percentage of owners who cross-shopped the RSX with a Civic (as well as the TSX with an Accord), and they want that to end, or at least minimize it. 3. Acura is going to cut its ties with Honda (ala Lexus/Toyota) and is now set to open in new markets, including Japan. Part of this plan was that Acura recieve their own design studios so that Acura can move away from typical Honda design. NO MORE RE-BADGED HONDAS. Shouldn't be too surprised to see it leave this market. Maybe it'll stay in Canada tho...them Canadians love them small cars...haha
shishpanik
I loved my g20 when i drove it.... Even though it was a 93 with 160k miles and in poor condition, hah. But yeah it makes sense...... many acura buyers are also honda buyers, and most acuras reflect the style of hondas, while lexus and toyota don't really reflect eachother at all. For example a 4 door integra pretty much looks like a 4 door accord.

blazzin_dc5
3. Acura is going to cut its ties with Honda (ala Lexus/Toyota) and is now set to open in new markets, including Japan. Part of this plan was that Acura recieve their own design studios so that Acura can move away from typical Honda design. NO MORE RE-BADGED HONDAS. Right now the most "reliable" rumor seems to be that because of that split between acura and honda that the TSX will be redesigned and the RSX will be gone. Its replacement will be a TSX coupe and possibly a TSX convertible. Its also rumored that it will share a motor with the new Acura RDX SUV that's coming out, which has turbo'd 2.3L that makes 240hp and 260tq. Also there's a possibility that the new TSX/TSX coupe will be RWD or AWD.
Blackoutt
Man turbo'd 2.3 isn't bad. I would like to see that in a TSX
