shishpanik
I was wondering, my 2006 civic it says that recommended fuel is Regular unleaded.... Will I get better mileage/better engine treatment if I use mid grade or premium??? Don't make fun of me i'm totally new to the car scene.

CRXSSIVE
use the fuel grade that the manufacturer recomended. lower octane burns quicker . . . I think this leans out the engine a li'l bit It also causes the engine to run rough - very noticable on cars that recomend hi octane fuel higher octane burns slower. . . will increase the carbon build up processs in the engine
xalexjx@yahoo.com
on my z3 i ran 89 oct in it and it ran like crap...i have to run 93-110..its way to expensive..
shishpanik
Yeahhhh.... The reason I was asking is because my dad runs his car (2003 xterra) using mid grade fuel when regular unleaded was recommended, he says it runs alot smoother. cranny
run smoother or no , if the factory recommends regular that means thats what the engine is designed to run on . If you run supreme tank after tank in a car rated for regular you will wear valve seats prematurely due to heat it wasnt designed for.
