  1. Hi everyone, I have a 2000 Honda Accord that keeps throwing a P1259 code at me. Two things to mention. I know that sometimes low oil pressure can cause the code to get brought up. On October 25th, 2022, I got an oil change. They put in 5W-20 Synthetic Oil, to which I normally put in 5W-30 Conventional oil. I talked to a few people, and they said that probably wouldn't cause that to occur, but I'm also not sure because I'm not a super serious car person. After I took my car to get serviced for the oil change, I had my VTEC Solenoid Gasket replaced because it was leaking pretty bad. To which then the check engine light came on for the P1259 code. So, the mechanic told me I just probably need to replace the part. So, I did. I waited 3wks for the part to come in, replaced it, cleaned everything, and cleared the code. I then drove the car and pushed it past 4000RPM to see if the VTEC would activate and it was fine until the RPMs went back down below 4000. Once it had went back down, and I pushed it again, the check engine light came on and the car kept revving back and forth off of 4000, felt like it had a nasty misfire. However, once I stop pushing it to 4000RPM it still drives normally and can slowly get speed and go to about 80mph or so, I just can't go past 4000. So now I'm at a loss as to what I need to do to fix this error as it has officially gone beyond me, so now I'm here making a reddit post. My thought process is that I do an oil change to see if that fixes it by putting what I normally put in there as like a first step, if that doesn't change anything idk what else I'm going to have to do. TL;DR: P1259 Error Code after oil change and replacing the VTEC Solenoid.
