I went ahead and cleaned the bay covering only the distributor, and the resonator intake, while an improvement, not the remarkable results you guys got from using red devil degreaser. I ended up with a lot of white chalky stuff (that I mostly removed before taking this pic) , the firewall and valve cover didn't get as clean as I'd like. I when to americanchemical.net and they have multiple automobile decreasers, couldn't find red devil degreaser... a search on the web and I found it.. gonna order and give red devil degreaser a try

who knew... I've been killing myself avoiding every electric connection under the hood... makes cleaning the bay a PITA I'll wrap up the distributor and go to town!
