  1. When you notice temps start to rise pull off to a safe place and check and see if upper and lower radiator hoses are hot. Upper and lower hoses should feel similar in temp to the touch (careful, they will be hot but not enough to burn you unless you grab hold and don't let go)

Given the problem occurs on a steep incline I would check to make sure your coolant is at a proper level first. A steep enough incline and the motor isn't designed for that and that can be a contributing factor as well.

  2. I own property in the UP just a couple miles from the superior coast and visit there regularly. 300 inches of snowfall per year enough for you? How about when it isn't snowing it's all sand dunes? So far I have had no problems in my FWD VW covering hundreds of miles of unmaintained forest trails in the summer and covering the dirt and gravel snow-pack roads in the winter.

You need to get over yourself. No where did I call you an idiot. You yourself noted you can drive your sol fine in the rain (indicating you know how to properly drive) and thus you do not actually need awd as a means for transport.

Stop going out of your way to initiate drama. It's unbecoming of you.

  3. You need an a3, but I guess that's still a vw...

I like/hate my golf. I like it for it's reliability and mpg but I just don't connect with it and when the time comes for it to go I won't shed a tear.

I really wish they would just bring us the accord wagon instead of this crosstour monstrosity. the euro wagons are excellent. Better lines without all the awd mumbo jumbo 2 foot of ground clearance crap.

  4. Bought the new place for 14. It's right on the edge of the historic district in the small town county seat. Thank god it isn't part of the historic area, that would suck.

My mortgage is...wait, i don't have one.

Fixing it up a bit. Think I will need to put about 15 in it and either sell my current place or list this one in the spring for 60/70. Might even rent it to someone I know. Don't want to mess with unknown people trashing it. I don't want to be a landlord. I have enough headaches already.

  5. I'll get a tape on it. The 90's extended and crew Chevs were unusually long compared to other trucks the same time period.

I hope to regear it, make various aero modifications and make an aero cap as well. i still have more homework to do but i may try to mess with the computer as well, but for now thats over my head.

  6. He's a FORD man. Isn't he speshial?

Really though, I could give a crap about truck brands in this case. Chev diesels are strong enough for my purpose. Ford's and Dodge's are certainly more powerful but I was looking specifically for 4wd with a backseat and better fuel economy. With a little modification and changing the gears I should be able to hit 25 on the open highway. Which is good since my commute to my new place is about 600 miles one way.

First things up, replacing broken door handle, new power steering pump and new tie rods. Scrape up a little money and buy me some new shoes.

  7. Car looks sharp. I never understood the waiting until the warranty ends line of thinking. That's a discussion for another thread. Get a better camera and post some nicer pics.

  8. You should make your own thread covering this issue instead of attaching it to the end of a long dead information thread. You will get better responses.

hey everybody! so im new to the racing scene and id like to build my ek hatch. need some help deciding with whats the best motor i can fit into it without sacrificing anything(a/c, power steering, etc.) id greatly appreciate the suggestions. thank u and aloha.

I quoted myself because I am that good.

Seriously, make a new thread and you will get some help.

  9. For the record: Matsush ita and Panasonic were indeed the same company producing sibling electronics for many years at the time your stereo was built. In the computer world their products are interchangeable and often are identical save for the name on the casing.
