SolLesHonda
Ok well it has been a while, figured I'd update you all. I was building my CRVTEC and I ran into some problems. I had been sent parts that were not the ones I had ordered, so I was going through hassles with companies and so forth. They finally sent me my money back, and I have been doing some thinking. I have sold the b20 block I had and made more than I had bought it for. I have decided I want to play aroung with turbo, so I ditched the b20. From sunrisejdmmotors, My local tuner got me the d16z6 complete swap for 500 dollars shipped, and I have done a couple mods to that ... Here are the mods so far : Ported and polished head Darton sleeved block Eagle H rods ARP studs CP pistons ACL bearings Crower springs/retainers Rocket motorsports valves crower stage 1 cam hondata s200 with boost msd digital 6 ignition msd wires aem fuel rail/FPR/fuel filter walbro in tank pump garrett t3/t04e .57 a/r turbo west coast turbo stage 3 FMIC west coast turbo charge piping custom manifold with external wastegate tial 38mm wastegate hks ssqv BOV 550 cc injectors aem adjustable cam gear 3" turbo back exhaust, no cat, tanabe hyper medallion muffler getting tuned as soon as all parts are finished being put on ... Going to run around 11 psi for daily use, but is def. capable of 20+ psi. At 25 psi should break 350-400 whp. What do you guys think ? ? ?
Batman
I dont know much about imports yet bet it sound good. :smoking:
SolLesHonda
Haha, thanks ... Depending on the tune and the boost psi I should run 12's on street tires. I think if I had some more tranny work and slicks and high boost, I could run in 11's.
Batman
Well just think you can drive yours right now but I have to push mine :(
CleanGSR
I'm just curious as to why you are only going to run 11 psi daily on that setup. 11 psi will probably get you around 270whp on that motor. 14 would put you well over 300whp and would be safe daily driven. I doubt you'll run in the 12's on 11psi but that just me. As for the setup, I think it looks really good except for the psi stuff I mentioned. cranny
i think your hoping for more power than your gonna get but sounds like a fun setup.
CleanGSR
That's an impossible. An engine won't even run without internals.
CleanGSR
I'm not trying to start a fight again, but there is no way a stock internal B series can hold that much power. A lot of built B's would break with 500whp let alone a stock. The pistons, rods, etc. just couldn't handle the power.
SolLesHonda
It was a one time thing. The engine blew up directly after that dyno pull. B16, you think I could run 14psi daily driven ? 13 psi should get me in the low to mid 13's. 20+ psi without major traction issues should get me 12's.
CleanGSR
Considering that you are fully building this motor, you should be able to easily run 14psi daily. A lot run 9-10 psi daily on stock D16z6, so 14 on a fully built should be like cake. If I fully built my B16, I would run 14 daily, SexyH22 is going to run 14 on his H22. I can't think of any reason it would be any different on a built Z6.

SolLesHonda
Hey, I'd appreciate now whoring up my thread with NOEL's del sol. That's the one you keep talking about. He is a moderator on crx forums. As far as cost, I have spent about 5K with all of this. I plan on buying a couple other little things soon, like Edelbrock intake manifold, and maybe some other little things.

SolLesHonda
Ehh, yes and no. NA is impressive, don't get me wrong, but some turbo set ups can be equally as impressive. Most turbo set ups aren't, but that can be said about NA as well. I was just trying to get a reply out of BBS. Wanted to hear what some of the regs on here thought, instead of just the noobs. xalexjx@yahoo.com
sounds like a good build...glad to see you went d as i like d-series more...i think your hp figures are acurate...u gonna run ems??idk jw,,good luck,,and for daily driving i wouldnt run more then 5-8 psi as you probably want this to last..running 12 psi continuosly on thin d series cylinder walls is not the best idea although it would be fun to put 20 psi in it...on my d15 i was only able to run 14 psi then the cylinder walls gave way...thats just my input but its your engine and you can do what you want... SolLesHonda
I am using Hondata s200 with boost option. Stock D16z6 sleeves can handle plenty. It's not suing stock sleeves anyway if you read the build. Even if I had stock internals I could easily run more than 5psi daily ... do you have any clue as to what your talking about ? I'm not here to be the most respected member. I'm here to help and learn, just the same as everyone else here. turbo cars can put down some insane numbers. my tuner's civic hatch will be hitting 400whp on pump gas and he's stated atleast 600whp with race gas, higher psi, and nitrous. seriously, I'm not bothered by someone else making more power than me. I think it''ll be badass and I hope to one day get to see it in person....and that's my next goal. we need to have a Hondaforums weekend meet sometime in the summer. we need a central location for all of use though. CleanGSR
Hey, I think Missouri is kind of central for the United States. I would seriously be down for a hondaforums meet. I think I'm only about 6 hours from BBS as it is. Oh, and I'm still laughing at B16A3 Del Sol saying that the motor had 500whp but wasn't in a car. I wonder what wheels they measured the whp at? I sersiously can't wait to see your setup SolLes. I'm hoping you will do some cool videos when you are done.
