1999 Honda Civic Show Car

Recommended Posts

I don't have a problem with his car....it's with his attitude. I mean, I hate the green car, but to each their own. My problem lies with the fact that he comes here with basically no knowledge and wants the knowledge to be spoon fed to him. If somebody wants an 8 second FWD honda (only a few in the world) then you are going to need vast amounts of knowledge. Not a single 8 second honda on the planet was done by a single guy.....most were done by a team of probably half a dozen or more guys and the engines need a rebuild every so often....not something you can daily drive. This kid needs to do some research (google should be your best friend) and stop wanting everybody to tell him what to do and he needs to stop acting like he's cool and offering porn and talking about getting laid.

didnt he change it to 10 second honda?

anyway you wouldnt need that much power.. good suspension and an understanding of power-weight and all that he might be able to pull it off

anyway does dart even make a head for a honda? I know my bf has dart heads on a 350 he has in his old z car. Seems like a more domestic thing

and we should all try to see "the beauty in his riced out civic" like drew said

but im with nate.. i dont have anything to say about his car even though it is def. not something i would drive but his attitude sucks and he really doesnt know crap about cars

oh and i love you all

You know what? This will decimate all... after we put about fifteen grand or more under the hood. If we have to, overnight some parts from Ja-pan.

dude honestly all bashing and joking aside.. stop watching soo many movies and snap into reality..

if you want a fast car that you are doing yourself with help from friends possibly.. study ALOT and i mean ALOT.. youre going to need a great balanced car IE: suspension, tranny work, engine build (not too much hp but enough).. power isnt everything, too much power in a FWD honda and all youll do is spin at the line.. i mean hell if you can make a 10 second daily more power to you man but me.. i just want a quick honda with a nice amount of power to roast me some V8's from a kick..

so basically I dont have anyone around here that knows ditally squat about civic's, most the guys around here just put a noisy muffler and some race seats in it, maybe a cold air intake. the guys in Fort Wayne really dont know how to build a rice rocket, and thats what I am trying to do. My only contact lives and hour away, Daniel Burchell of Burchell Designs LLC. He came up here from Port Saint Loisie or however thats spelled to get his masters degree at Indiana Wesleyan University. I just need help, and I have spent 3 months doing research on this on google and there are some many options and so much information that I am not sure how to organize it... so I was hoping somebody on here already had done it, but seeing as like you guys said it takes a team, how do I go about creating that in a city I just moved to? Hell I dont even have a garage where I currently live. and all my tools got stolen when I worked at the auto shop in Des Moines. Sure I dont know that much about cars, i mean an oil change a radiator flush, a tune up, an engine rebuild, a brake pad change; thats what I know, when it comes to boring out engines these numbers just start spinning having ADHD with an iq of 141 doesnt help things I try to get in to deep instead of looking at the bigger picture. That in turn turns you guys off towards me, sorry that I am 100% unexperienced as far as building a scratch engine goes. Maybe you guys have some more specific places online that I have found that you could point me towards. but reading your last page and a half has made me realize you guys arent so bad.

.... Thanks

Patrick Binder

Step 1: Dont try building a stupid fast car when you have a slow one.. going from slow to fast is asking for trouble.. start off with a nice smaller build and get used to that and that will help you learn a lot

Step 2: dont be a douche

Step 3: dont be a douche

Step 4: go back to step one

I think I said this three times now. Stop asking for a parts list. No one is going to take you seriously with that cracker jack car you have there.

You need to contact a local speed shop and have them build you the engine you are asking about. No amount of internet threads are going to replace experience. You do not have it and seem unwilling to start small and earn it, so you will need to go out and buy your speed. There is no shame in that. Do your homework and find a professional shop that will build you the engine you desire.

ROFL you'd think Nick Hogan/Bollea was driving.

TEH SUPRA ASSASSIN, lulz

ok my next thought out plan. Dart Engine block deck height of 211.5 which is equal to the B18 Block 84.5 cp pistons at 9.0:1 compression to stock with Eagle Turbo Rods. with and Eagle light weight stock stroke crankshaft and Type R pan oil pump, water pump. The Dart Head http://www.dartheads.com/products/special-...-gsr-heads.html since you guys question whether they made heads for the civic earlier in the thread i left you guys a reference. skunk 2 cams, gears, spring and retainer valves. AEM high Volume Fuel rail Walbro high Volume fuel Pump. RC 1200 cc/min Fuel Injectors (I am wondering if thats to much and will flood the engine). AEM EMS. I am considering this transmission http://www.importperformancetrans.com/hondamanual.shtml#main does anyone know this company and if they do quality work? And Exeddy 2 plate clutch. and I think I saw a Carbon Fiber Head cover with a chrome spark plug cover for sale somewhere that I think I would like to finish it off with. Then an Edelbrock Performer X turbo kit at 8-12 psi. Does this set up sound like it might work with a few tweaks?

if you know what you want then go do it

well do you think the 1200cc/min fuel injectors will flood the engine? should I drop down to 650cc/min or will the turbo bring me a high enough airflow to keep from flooding the engine.

and if I do run 1200cc/min is that enough that I should probably run a dry shot. Or to increase the air fuel level more should I do a wet shot to maintain proper cooling?

You have GOT to be trolling. Talking about boost and nitrous. You realize that's compounding the cylinder pressure right? You DO NOT have an IQ of 141 while asking questions like this.
