	Hello! I recently bought a 97 logo and the brakes are almost shot to hell. I'm having trouble finding the right size brake pads and rotors to replace everything but maybe someone here would have a lead? I've been trying to go off of the OEM numbers from <a href="https://jp-carparts.com/honda/figlist.php?maker=honda&amp;type=LOGO%205D&amp;cartype=22947" rel="external nofollow">here</a> but I'm at a loss (maybe I'm stupid? I'm new to cars).

	I purchased 2024 Honda CRV and discovered it does NOT have <span style="color:#191919;">upper engine cover</span>. All my previous cars had always an engine cover. Is this standard for Honda to not have engine cover? If yes, do you recommend to buy one or is it waste of money?

	<span style="background-color:#ffffff;color:#383a3b;font-size:14px;">I'm trying to replace the harmonic balancer off my prelude since it's wobbling. I grabbed a new (used) one off of another 5th gen prelude but it won't fit nicely on my sprocket like my old one does. I checked the inner diamater of both the harmonic balancers and they are roughly the same (it was hard to measure correctly because of the ridges). Visually I can see the ridges on the old one is more worn out the the new one so maybe thats why? Should I just impact gun it in and then torque to spec? Also if I put them next to each other one of them has 2 holes design on it while the other one doesn't have, what is the difference? Should I impact gun it in since maybe it doesn't fit cause the new pulley was barely used?</span>

	I need to replace my throttle body for my '02 3.0 Accord and I'm having a hard time figuring out which throttle body I should buy.<br />

	The 16410-P8C-A21 is for 98-01 Accords, the 16410-P8C-A22 seems to be for 02. Are these throttle bodies close enough to be interchangeable for a 16 year old's car?<br />
	<br />
	The price difference is quite steep. I can get a 16410-P8C-A21 for around $150 and the 16410-P8C-A22 runs for around $700. Is it worth getting the "right" part, or will 16410-P8C-A21 be fine?

	Hello!
</p>

<p>
	I am going to keep this as brief as possible. I am at a loss and desperate at this point because I heavily rely on my car for my two jobs- and I am exhausted.
</p>

<p>
	This has been going on for a full year now, and I don't know what else to do.
</p>

<p>
	Please bear with me, and enjoy the ride because its a long story- but I'll keep it summarized.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I have had  A LOT go wrong with my 2005 Honda CRV SE.
</p>

<p>
	It is my favorite car, its been my dream car for years- I know its old but I need it to last a little longer until I can afford a new car, but it shouldn't be "Dead" yet.
</p>

<p>
	I have gotten second opinions, and even paid for an inspection with no improvement- here's the details.
</p>

<ul><li>
		My 2005 Honda CRV SE has trouble cold starting- it cranks then the tachometer starts going up and down(it sounds like it wants to start) THEN once the tachometer reaches "1" I put my foot on the gas and that's the only way it starts. But then other times the cold start is fine and starts perfectly!
	</li>
	<li>
		With this problem, my dash lights are inconsistent too. One day the engine light, VSA light and triangle light with the exclamation point are on and then the next day they aren't. I think its an electrical problem- but I can't get any mechanic to listen to me or take me seriously.
	</li>
	<li>
		On the days where its harder to start, the tachometer goes up and down like usual while Im cranking it but then the front end of the car hops/thumps along with the crank sound itself. Then it finally turns over and starts. It drives perfectly once started- so I am so confused.
	</li>
</ul><p>
	Unfortunately, I think my mechanic may be incompetent with this issue even though hes a great guy. I JUST picked up my car Friday and two hours late it wasn't starting again. Here is everything I have had replaced on my 2005 Honda SE, so we can narrow it down. Due to this, I am at a loss.
</p>

<ul><li>
		I have new fuel injectors
	</li>
	<li>
		New spark plugs and ignition coils
	</li>
	<li>
		New fuel filter
	</li>
	<li>
		New battery
	</li>
	<li>
		New VVT solenoid
	</li>
	<li>
		New valve cover gasket
	</li>
	<li>
		New exhaust pipe
	</li>
	<li>
		New brakes and rotors
	</li>
</ul><p>
	I have been taking my car into my mechanic for a year, and once hes fixes something- the problem arises again only after a week or two weeks.
</p>

<p>
	Long story short, he doesn't listen to me and im tired.
</p>

<p>
	I went somewhere else and got a second opinion- I paid for an inspection. They said it only needs a new VVT solenoid, my previous mechanic just did that so I told him per the inspection, I needed it replaced. It was covered under warranty- and he replaced it. But it did not fix the problem. I asked the place I got a second opinion from if the VVT solenoid could be why its not starting properly, they said yes.
</p>

<p>
	Im at a loss now- its got to be wiring or something electrical right? Especially since the problem is so inconsistent. One week it starts perfectly, with no dash lights. Then the following a bunch of dash lights come on and it doesn't start.
</p>

<p>
	Im so tired, heres a few other things my mechanic and the other place I got an inspection from ruled out:
</p>

<ul><li>
		They said my fuel pump is fine
	</li>
</ul><p>
	Is it an electrical issue or wiring? I notice my headlights are very bright but sometimes my dash lights seem dull. Also when it cranks but doesn't start the battery light or the oil lamp light comes on. Sometimes it turns, then dies immediately showing the battery light. Its got to be wiring I think....Im so tired please <span><span class="ipsEmoji">😞</span></span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span>Thank you! </span>
</p>

	Hello, I have the above Engine and Transmission installed in my homebuilt buggy.  Im having a hard time locating the correct harness / ecu parts that I will need or inform to make it start and run. Can anyone point me in the correct direction?    I purchased an 04 engine harness but it doesn't seem to match some of the transmission.   1) Does anyone know the following, will an engine harness from a 2001 Acura TL connectors match with the 2004 j23-a3?        2, Does the engine harness plug straight into the ECU or does it plug into the dash harness that inturns plug into the ECU?  Anyone in so cal with the knowledge and experience in getting this thing running for a fair price hit me up.

	Quick question, I dropped the key when removing the harmonic balancer to do a timing belt and forgot to put it back in when lining the timing marks up.
</p>

<p>
	Is it possible for the pistons to contact or bend the valves when turning the crank over with a big ratchet or does it need <span>centrifugal forc</span>e to make contact?

	I am building an H22 600+ hp Prelude<br />
	I bought the h22 skunk2 valvetrain package on swapshopracing.com<br />
	It came with 344-05-1300 spring and retainer kit<br />
	All the research I have done says the b and h springs are similar. The kit from swapshop also came with the spring bases 312-05-0015. I did some homework and also contacted swapshop. They say they have sold this kit for years with no issue.<br />
	According to skunk2s website the 312-05-0015 bases should be used with pro b springs. My question here is what issues will I run into using these bases with b series alpha springs. My top end build consists of h22 p13 head, ported and polished, 3 angle valve job, crower stage 2 turbo cams, skunk2 alpha springs for b series?, skunk2 spring bases( for pro springs )?, ferrea valve guides, skunk2 titanium retainers, crower intake and exhaust valves. Long story short the supposed h22 kit I bought off swapshop claims and backed up by technical support that it will still work for an h22. The kit came with b series springs 16 of them not 8, alpha ti retainers and spring seat bases for pro springs. Out of curiosity what seat bases you supposed to use for alpha springs if skunk2 doesn't sell any? I don't have oem ones. If there was a thread on spring bases I apologize.

	I just rebuilt my J35A7 engine. New heads, rockers, piston rings, oil pump, timing belt, etc. It started immediately. I have run it about a total of 30-45 minutes at this point.  Immediately, I had a high idle at 2000 RPM, a P3400 code, engine is stuck in limp mode and cannot accelerate past about 3300 RPM, and some random misfires that seem to change with each run of the engine.  I am concerned with engine oil pressure first.
</p>

<p>
	I never had an oil pressure idiot light on the dash, but I get this P3400 code which suggests there is no oil pressure at the rocker arm bank closest to the firewall.
</p>

<p>
	Is there an oil pressure sending unit that serves only the dash idiot light? Why would that light stay off while the oil pressure switches on the rocker arm are detecting no or insufficient oil pressure? (yes the dash light works... I have the oil pressure light illuminated with the key on but engine not running)
</p>

<p>
	I unplugged both oil pressure switches to see if I would get a second code and I did not. Instead, I got a flashing check engine light AND the P3400 code did not happen.  Not sure why. I get the P3400 everytime I run it normally.
</p>

<p>
	Also, I am having a very hard time finding a manual oil pressure gauge setup that will fit the Honda.  My tester is SAE/NPT and the oil pressure switch on the Honda J35A7 is 10mm x 1.25. No one has an adaptor for this (male 10mm x 1.25, female 1/8 x 27 NPT). I am not sure why it so hard for me to locate a manual oil pressure gauge that is compatible with my Honda engine.
</p>

<p>
	Bottomline is that I am scared to run the engine any longer without a manual oil pressure test so I can be certain if my oil pressure switch is bad or if there is indeed no oil pressure.

There all stock with the catalytic converter attached. What's a good website for older Honda proformance parts. I need help. Lol and I'm gonna get coil overs soon to make it hug the ground and curves better. But it's my everyday driver so I can't really tear it apart like I'd like to. Hey guys, have a 2012 honda with about 190k on it that we just did an oil change on. On first start, it started, then rattled (per usual) then it died. I got worried, cranked it a few more times (2-3 seconds) and called it quits because it is an interference motor and it had me concerned.<br />
	It’s had a nasty start up rattle for a long time, my worry is that as the motor tried to build pressure while also taunting up the chain tensioner, then it jumped time because the oil galley was emptied when the filter was taken off?
</p>

<p>
	Here is what I know:
</p>

<p>
	• chain has some pretty good slack
</p>

<p>
	•#1 intake valves are hanging up when rotating motor by hand. It binds, then taunts the chain then clicks as it release tension. My guess is #1 is the reason why it died.
</p>

<p>
	•No obvious carnage, no other cylinders are binding.
</p>

<p>
	I do not know what happened, but I am guessing that the chain slop finally caught up. Let me know if you know of any other causes? Or solutions? Thanks!
</p>

	I am currently swapping a b18b1 into 96 Honda EK. Everything is in and we are attempting to get it timed. The ECM is a P75 with a jumper harness. We've checked the mechanical timing on the cam marks, along with the sight hole in the cams, and the timing on the crankshaft. Everything is perfectly lined up. When we hit it with a timing light, all the way advanced on the distributor we can barely hit 0 degrees much less 16 degrees. I am at a loss on what else to try.<br /><br />
	Any advice?<br /><br />
	Thanks in advance

	Hey, so i've gotten an ECU from a '00 civic with the ID of "PHX" and was wondering if anyone knows if it would be possible(and if so, easy) to swap it with the one i got in my '96 (Not sure of ID yet, will add later) since the PHX is obd1 and current one is obd0.

	Hey it’s Backyard, I’m still working on 2007 Honda CRV . I can’t seem to fix this vehicle, At 4000rpms it goes into limp mode . I have replaced spool valve 3 times , third time with a Honda part . Both timing chain and plugs replaced , mass air flow and egr cleaned , Fresh oil change again with filter , 02 sensors . Keep in mind the cat is gutted ( not by me ). Broke down and took it to Honda dealership and they would not fix unless I replaced the Cat and  the 02 sensors. I had bought aftermarket sensors they did not like . They charged me 215.00 and I’m still back at the beginning. I have seen so many people have the same problem with this 2.4 but mine still broke . West Virginia mountains require your small engines to rev above 4000rpm when merging.If someone could assist I would greatly appreciate it .

	Does anyone have any knowledge on the f1 mugen or what the best possible swap I could do to my accord? Along with turbo/supercharge suggestions and a transmission that could tolerate any of it. Trying to put something together for some of the cocky muscle cars around here.

	Hey all,
</p>

<p>
	I recently purchased this CRV and it's got a lot of work I'd like to do on it. The previous owner stated that it was a B20B swap as I understand the CRV usually has a B20Z in it. He also said that they may have swapped the head of the engine, but there's a sticker that says b20b that's on the head so I'm not sure. Anyways - looking at it it's clear that it's not the same as a regular CRV engine.
</p>

<p>
	I'm currently trying to figure out why the fan wont kick on(fuses are good, jumped relay and fan started to spin, gotta track down the fan switch next). They put a Civic radiator inside of it on top of the old CRV radiator, and then ziptied the damn cooling fan to the radiator lol. I'll be getting rid of that civic radiator and the old CRV radiator and doing upper/lower hose, thermostat etc eventually.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	So my main questions are - replacing the old CRV radiator in this(probably get cheap one off ebay?) should be fine, correct? And my question that hopefully I can resolve soon - does anyone have any clue what the hell is going on with these vacuum lines?
</p>

<p>
	There's a connection for a vacuum line where 1 is marked. There is airpressure coming out of this when i hold my hand over it, it's quite noticeable.
</p>

<p>
	#2 is clearly just a loop to the air intake. What is this doing??
</p>

<p>
	#3 is just a hose that is connected to absolutely nothing. I can't really feel any suction coming from it or air coming out of it.
</p>

<p>
	Also - the engine does not rev up to the maximum 8k on the RPM gauge. It cuts off around 6k it seems like.
</p>

<p>
	Added a picture of the retarded radiator setup as well. The engine gets pretty hot when it's going up hill/idling in the heat and I think this has to do with the crappy old fans and the fact I don't think they're turning on at all. The A/C does not kick on the secondary radiator fan either and it doesn't seem like the A/C is working at the moment.
</p>

	I have a 2005 Honda Civic 1.7l manual transmission with 154,000 miles that does not get driven all that often.  2 years ago had major tune up...plugs, coils, timing belt, water pump, new clutch, etc.  About 2 weeks ago I replaced the upstream and downstream O2 sensors with Denso sensors because I had been getting a P0420 emission threshold efficiency code for about the last year.  That appeared to resolve the engine codes and has been running fine.
</p>

<p>
	Fast-forward to yesterday and I noticed that when revving the engine beyond about 1,700 rpm or so and releasing the throttle it makes a horrible rattling/grinding noise from around the left side of the engine accompanied by a large puff of white smelly smoke from the exhaust...can't tell if the smell is "sweet"...smells bad to me.  You can see a video of me reproducing this sound here: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txTazWLCT04" rel="external nofollow">Video of noise</a>
</p>

<p>
	The coolant was a little bit low (maybe 6-8oz) although I hadn't checked it in a while.  I did not see any milky residue under the oil filler cap or on the oil dipstick.  I did not visibly observe any bubbling under the radiator cap or the coolant reservoir (although the system wasn't full so maybe I would not have anyway).  I am purchasing a block test kit and will be doing that later today but this noise really concerns me.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks in advance.

	I just got a 1994 Honda civic EX coupe. Me and my dad are planning on building the original D16z6 engine that is in it just to try to make a little more power without boosting it. I am very new to this and really only have what I have seen on YouTube in the past, so if I could get some help with finding somewhere we could send the head and block off to to get machined, a new exhaust that isn't too highly priced, and a decent set of higher compression pistons, that would be great. Also, any and all input is appreciated, like I said we are both rather inexperienced and on a bit of a budget. Thank you.
