sevenyo
I just got this car and the first time i drove it was to the gas station. I got premium gas. About 30 miles later I noticed after coming to a stop and pulling off, there was a acceleration issue. More like a strain. Eventually after about 8 seconds it started to run fine again. It happened twice. I am wondering if it was the gas. I am going to use 87 from now on. Can you mess up your engine using premium gas in a 5th gen 96 accord? Humphries
your car is not tuned to run a higher octane gasoline. run 87 and you will have the best performance if using the incorrect octane rating, you will experience pre-ignition and knocking. your knock sensor will advance or retard ignition timing to compensate but it cant be always exact. just use what is meant for the engine.
