Building AWD civic

It's possible to make it AWD, but it's truly not worth the money.

The options for having an AWD Civic are:

- Buy a 4G Civic (Wagovan) that already has AWD (NOT a performance system btw).

- Buy a '92-'00 Civic AWD sedan (also available on 3G Integra sedans) from a market which always had them (such as Japan or parts of Europe) (NOT a performance system btw). You will need to jump through legal loopholes to get this car legal, not to mention the money you need to spend to get the car over here in the first place. It may never be deemed street legal in the US.

- DIY. Usually this means using parts from other cars, such as the CRV. Experiments with these sort of set ups seem to show that much of the time the set up is not reliable enough for performance use or daily use. This method can also, understandably, be quite expensive.

There's the gist of it, but there's plenty of more specific information out there about each method.

The RT4WD wagons arent called Wagovans. A wagovan is the base model of the Wagons.. A RT4WD Civic Wagon also is not AWD it is 4WD, hence the title RT4WD and not RTAWD. There is a big difference between 4WD and AWD.

No car can be imported to the US legally unless it is 25years old or older.. its called the 25 year law. Actually the 4th gen RT4WD Shuttle (Civic Wagon) was in production from 1988 - 1996 in Japan not just the Sedan or Integra but neither the 5th or 6th gen sedan nor the integra are legal for import until they are 25 years old.

Posting the CORRECT information would actually help and YES there is a way to build an AWD without using old RT4WD systems that would actually work more for performance use.. Try looking around at the K series transmissions and you might find a few cars that use an AWD system like the TL AWD and CRV AWD for example.

also this post is from Jan and he only posted twice, dont think he's coming back to look for his answer.
