billash
Have a 2014 Odyssey, had a trailer hitch installed, now wondering if a transmission cooler is really necessary. Pulling a small uHaul trailer from Houston to Az/Utah in mid July.
TLontheDL
I don't think its necessary if its a 2014, as your Odyssey is fairly new. Actually it depends on how many miles you have on your car so far. Check your owners manual on when it is recommended but its usually around every 30k miles but since you're pulling a small load in a hot weather such as Houston, you might want to change it out every 15k miles. In conclusion, I suppose it wouldn't hurt before you make that trip in the grueling summer heat all the way up to AZ/Utah.
Dave O
Install the cooler! Not something to mess with and normal vehicles do NOT have the cooling capacity to handle transmission heat while towing. Dave O
