Ok my buddy just purchased a 93 dx hatch with he told 97 b20b1 drove back from chicago now won't start anymore he says has spark I check fuel system and changed filter it s all good had a p30 on it I plugged in an p75 won't start either way wants to turns but won't go any help appreciated thanks

Raley u seem very knowlegdeable, i plugged my ls ecu in and it runs fine his ls dont run it though. His is p75-a01 mine is p75-a51 his for stick mine auto could that be the difference in it not starting. His ecu in my del sol will start and run but will not go past 3500rpm? not to good with computers yet just starting to learn so any advice would be appreciated

You are correct. An auto ecu is looking for signal of the car being in park. Then in your car it is going into limp mode because it thinks your trans is about to break.
There are ways around this but they are not for unknowledgable people.

For sure dont wanna try messing with the computer. I just have to find him a similar ecu to mine than. If i am correct p75=ls than a51 means=america,automatic,obd1 but both of our cars are standard. So would that mean i have the original 1.6 si automatic wiring harness and he has 1.5 automatic harness and therefore have to run an auto ecu? Thank you for all the advice would be lost without this forum and your help.

Yes, you both likely have stock harnesses in the chassis. one might have a jumper harness or the wiring was re-done to bypass lots of the things that each ecu was looking for.
