I live in a small town, there is a small group of complete douchbags that all drive Honda/Acuras. They are all shitty cars but we are all either in highschool, or college so it's understandable. But I chose my Impreza for the safety, AWD, and the GC8 look. Everytime we get into an argument about why I chose my subaru I have a pretty hefty argument....

Again, the AWD, I live in a small town with LOTS of back roads, and it sees winter ~6-7 months a year so AWD was very crucial.
Safety. The subaru name is known for its safety.
Look. This is obviously an opinion so I am not going to bother.
Customization. My GC8 has a ton of options for exterior look, without being ricer. Anything from Version 1-4 STi conversions, STi version 5-6, the 22b non-wide body conversion, and lots of JDM options.
Personally I have the Version 5 STi spoiler, and I am getting the Version 4 front bumper.
The Legend- Subarus have a history behind them of World Rally Championships, especially with the Impreza 22b for 3 straight years. and they continue to do very well today.

However, when I question them about why they chose Hondas I get no real argument except opinions... "it's easier to work with", "it looks cooler". but does anyone have a SERIOUS NON-OPINION reason, as to why they chose a Honda.

FYI- I am not here to bash Hondas, or Acuras, or your choices, I have an addiction to learning and I would like to be educated in the way of the Honda. So, with that being said, let's see how courteous and educated the Honda community can be.

Well, when i was 16 i got my first honda (a del sol) and in all honestly i hadn't even touched a honda, i was an air cooled guy since i was a baby, I dad had them and i grew up around them. But i got the del sol strictly because i thought it looked cool and was a convertable (yes its a targa but still) Then I started to work on them, and they are VERY easy to work on, learn on and really are open to any mod imaginable. Had a lot of spare parts and needed a winter car, so I got my 92 civic hatchback, looked good, very light, and really, i had a mound of parts that would work on it.

As far as im concerned, a car is a car... you can really do anything your heart desires if you try.

i like the awd of the 2.5rs, it has a good motor, and its the best looking subaru in my opinion. its a good platform just as the civic.

With all of that said, I would not buy a 02 or newer honda, i hate the look of them. and really, in my eyes thats the most important part of most cars. you can make a geo metro run 9sec 1/4mile times or a lambo. you can make both of those cars handle a track the same too. it just depends on how much you want to do to the car.

Now, that all is explained on why I own hondas, you say you don't have ricer parts but then describe shit that doesn't do anything for the vehicle other than aesthetics, which some argue is rice. some say rice is only things that don't add eye appear or performance. Im more on the second one. but just to let you know, if you are posting this on other sites, you might want to watch what you say.

If you have any more questions, feel free. you aren't being a douche, so we won't give you hell, some other sites will. just be careful. Also, I don't associate with most of the honda people at all, but there is the same thing with all car groups.

Just bought my del sol, I always wanted one. They are reliable, and very easy to work on. I got mine at a good price, and it needs a little tlc mostly to the body, but I'm gonna restore it to great condition. :)

The thing I always here is that yes Hondas are reliable, just as reliable as subarus, but Hondas are so mediocre. There's nothing special about a honda it's just a car. Where as my car, a GC8 has won Rally titles with comparatively very little modding.

And I flat out despise the look of all imprezas after 2006. The new 2012 impreza looks like COMPLETE shit, and the BRZ?! *gag* RWD is disgusting.
AWD OR NOTHING!

umm... have you heard about vtec? that was a honda first. Its not suppose to be a performance car, its an economy car that you can make fast quickly and cheaply.

and if you want to think full picture, the NSX is the first and only super car for the middle class. so that says A LOT. and you try to say a subaru with "little modding" have you ever read the rule book on a rally car?! it has PAGES on just the roll cage. there are serious mods done to ANY and ALL rally cars.

Like I said, comparitively little... Ever see a Honda in a real race? or Rally? not without way more modding then a subaru would ever need...

and Lol vtec.

And fyi... 100,000+ is not middle class car. lmao. The Subaru Impreza STi... ~50k brand new? Half the price, 3/4 as good. and easily modded to be faster then the NSX

now you are just confusing yourself.

and middle class is 60-200k a year... also, a brand new nsx in 95 was 80k msrp... so the same price as a (current) corvette and stomped them on the track.

so your sti is 50k new (as you stated) if i took a 25k (brand new price) for a brand new 92 honda civic, put 30k into it, so it was even with your sti in price... even if i had a shop do the work, it would walk any stock sti. so again, you are incorrect.

now for that rally comment, there is a 97 civic hatchback that runs rally around here. stock motor from an LS integra, cage, suspension and it does amazing...

and now, the final vtec thing. since most manufacturers are using a version of it... id say its a pretty big plus of a company.

then your video... you just made me watch a clip of a wanna be drag race (neither of the cars were really getting on it) of 2 cars meant for a road coarse... so that doesn't even make sense.

and as jordan said, that 100hp per liter... which is actually incorrect. before the honda b16a motor (dohc 1.6L) the standard for efficiancy of an engine was based on 100hp per liter... but they released an engine that produced 180hp per 1.6L... that makes the engine 112.5% efficiancy per the standards of the time...

you ask for our opinion and then try to rip on us for our OPINION. do you want me to start getting at you about why i think your decisions are stupid... i have many of them. including your friends in hondas. or maybe its just the region that you live in... bad water im guessing.

i chose honda because its been sitting at a friends house for a month, he had sold it to his preachers daughter then they gave it back to him in slightly beat up condition.. how he ever got it home is beyond me because it had a blow head gasket(compression into water) which blew out plenty of water added to a pinsize hole in the waterpipe which also spurt out some water. so i bought it off him for $500 got it insured and threw a tag on it. and drove it straight to my mechanic who i had replace the head gasket and headbolts which only set me back 495.93 in total (was working and never delt with OHC so i let him handle it so after that and a few more repairs its up and running like a charm for 99.9% .01%due to unknown low idle in gear a bit..
