cmgogo Posted July 1, 2011 Share Posted July 1, 2011 so yeah, got my 1973 cb 350 four for free, so far estimated cost to rebuild/refurb im looking around $1500, granted thats more than you would pay for one already in decent condition, I want to do the work myself (what can I say, I like torture, hence why I buy busted up del sols haha) anyways, this is the start, and it will be a long, arduous, drawn out, never ending thread, as this bike has been sitting for 25+ years. and this is what 25+ year old dot 3 looks like (meh already planned on replacing the lines, and rebuilding the MC/caliper) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The project has OFFICIALLY started as of tonight (I needed a marathon wrenching session, so started out doing a full tune up of the solvic, and started working on the bike) It has been officially dubbed "Project Donorcycle" That was the ammount of work I did tonight, and ran into a few "Supprises" (fracking wire nuts? REALLY!?!?!) cut wires and inline taps?!?!? Seems like every vehicle I get is chock full of wiring issues! oh but wait, it gets even better! WHAT.... THE.... frack?! Yes, that is about an inch and a quarter of stacked washers. ...... ...... So yeah, as of now the goal is to do a "1/2 cafe" setup, ill be extending the tank, changing out the seat (will still have enough room for a chick to ride bitch), still need to take off the highway bar, custom fabricate a new headlight, powdercoat the frame flat black, rebuild the motor (send it off to get chromed as well), fabricate a 4-1 exhaust, chop the fenders, run a side plate, an a few other things. Color scheme is flat black and chrome with red highlights. once I get the concept drawings complete ill post em up. Thank god for power tools or work, wrenching and my home renovations would suck balls. So with a puch, how is the arrangement different that allows you to drive one compared to a motorcycle?
