I've been driving my car without A/C since I bought it, but it sucks I want A/C this summer! I took it to a honda dealer to see what the problem was, they told me it needed a new compressor clutch so I bought a new Compressor and charged the A/C system up but still nothing happened. Later i figured out i had a bad A/C fan relay I replaced that but still nothing. When I push the A/C button on my dash the green light comes on BUT, the computer doesnt see the signal. It's very confusing and I can't seem to be able to figure it out. !!!!PLEASE HELP I'M MELTING!!!!

can't help but wanted to put my butthead $0.02 in so you didn't think you were being ignored.

4/55 ac works great for me. i purposely removed my working ac system that i never used. car is now 55 lbs lighter, runs a few degrees cooler, i gained a solid 2mpg (parasitic drag) and I made $20 recycling the condenser core.

When you pulled a vac on the system, what was the reading and how long did it hold? How many OZ did you add?

When you measure the ac pressure switch, what readings are you getting?

First thing first, do you hear/feel and see (rpms) the AC compressor engage while the cars is at idle? If not then 1. the system could be over charged 2. under charged 3. there is an electrical problem. The system should only be properly charger with gauges on the high and low and to do it best it should be on a very hot day and humid if you live in area where it is humid. The amount of refrigerant is directly dependent on temp and humidity. If you charged it by simply dumping refrigerant into the system then take it some place and let the professionals do it. Also, did you replace PAG oil before you installed the new compressor? This will affect the system performance. There is a certain amount of PAG that should be replaced depending on which part of the AC system is replaced. Also, after any portion of the AC is opened the system needs to be vacuumed out to a negative 29hg so that the moisture in the system will be boiled out. If this was not done then that will affect the system performance. You may be dealing with a compound of small issues that are causing the overall performance to be low.

Other then that, given the age of the vehicle and if you have ever added a leak stop to the system then the condensor may not be working properly (somewhat common on that generation) and the condensor plays a huge roll in the function of the system.

That generation never had the best AC anyway, but to check where you are at do the following. Park the car in the sun, turn the AC to max (high fans speed and recirculating through the cabin), put the vents so air is only comming out of the dash, close the drivers and passengers side vents so that only air is coming out of the center dash vents, place a thermometer into the center vent and let the car run (windows up obviously). If the system is working perfectly (not to be expected) the temp should come down to around 38 to 40 degrees. An over charged system will greatly decrease the effeciency as will an under charged system. That generation Accord typically works better running on the lower side of the high pressure side (temp and humidity dependent as I previously stated).

Bottom line, AC work is a little more complex then what the aftermarket parts stores will tell people. You may unfortunately want to do some research and find a good local shop that specializes in AC and bring it there. The dealer obviously should do good work, but for something like this a shop the deals with a lot of AC jobs should be a good place to take it.

Hope this gave you some information to work on. Sorry, there is no majic answer... You are obviously missing the AC working well, so best of luck.

I believe it wen to around 30 there are no leaks it held for 10-15 minutes (the entire time the vac was on) I haven't measured tthe switch but I know it doesnt have a reading because the computer doesnt see the A/C button when I turn it on

Just an update for anyone whocares, I ended up just removing the entire A/C system and bought a shorter belt and am now thinking about removing the power steering.
