its a 89 civic 2dr hatch si... but had a d16y8 vtec swap... not all the sensors are hooked up so that could be the check engine light... but what would cause this starting problem... i also relocated the battery to the back of the vehicle... could that do something like that???

fixed the starting problem.... it was the start up temp sensor i didn't have it hooked up right. and that was one of the codes... the other code was vehicle speed sensor( its because i don't have the o ring gasket i need on the speedo cable so it leaks a little out of the transmission) also fixed the fuel gauge... the car had sat a while so i put SEA FOAM in it and after 1 tank of gas it un gunked the sensor

Similar. My car same car 90 hatch. D15. Starts tough. Gas gauge reads backwards. Temp switch goes to a certain point and stops. It never drops or exceeds that point. All the wires in the bay look good. Still have to check under the dash. I have replaced temp sensor, temp sending and fan switch. It still gives a temp code on the ecu. My thoughts are a bad wire/ground or the ecu. PS I found a fried circuit on the ecu. It was mpgfi circuit or fuel pump. Not exactly sure. The ecu as I said gives me 6 lights at steady blinks. Help me before I cry like a full grown hairy baby
