TLontheDL
So, Verizon is now a carrier of iPads. Currently, they are only offering wi-fi for the iPad while AT&T still offers the data plan, 2gb for $25 bucks. My question is, if I buy the iPad, can't I just buy it and use the wi-fi where wi-fi is available without paying Verizon some kind of monthly fee?? http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2010/10/verizon-ipad/
SIR_VTEC
TL you can buy any standard Ipad anywhere and use it on any WIFI without paying any fees....Verizon is just adding their hotspot and MIFI for an outrageous price....if you buy one at best buy its not going to be any different than buying it at the carrier's store/ apple store...especially if you aren't planning on purchasing the 3g version. SIR_VTEC
Yeah TL just buy the standard Wifi, I got one and its just the standard, you can always jailbreak it to have a hot spot/ teathering service...but thats if you decide to jailbreak it. Believe me the 3G version or MIFI by verizon is worthless..thats why you have a smart phone or a laptop for
