new honda guy

Bought a 96 accord lx a few months back for 500 bucks. Had a smashed rear window, no mirrors, front bumper split, front window cracked badly, hood crunched up, and no headlights. Little did I know I would fall in love with this car. It is just a f22b2, 2 door coupe. But I love it. So far I have replaced the rear window, mirrors, driver airbag ( just to fill the hole, not connected) drivers headlight, and front bumper. Have driven this car smashed up for 5000 miles. What I'm really looking to do next is to put a different motor and manual transmission in, and looking for suggestions on what to go with. This is not my main car and can be in the garage for an unlimited amount of time, and not looking to spend a fortund. Thanks for all suggestions in advance!

H22 price drop out!!!

Wth is going on with the price on H22's? A few years ago you were looking at $4000 for an H22 with an LSD tranny and you couldn't give away a B16a1. Now its the exact opposite. You can get a JDM H22 with LSD, mounts, harness, and ecu for $1500 all day and 3-4 for a b16. My how times have changed. I'm half tempted to thow an h22 in my crx just cause of the price. I know it's a bitch swap but damn if I can get that much motor for that price it's worth it for the extra headache. I'm definitely gonna look into it. I gotta see how much cutting is evolved.

Need help on a ls swap problem

I have a 91 EF with a 93 ls in it. I recently changed my throw out bearing and got it all back together. I put my mid shaft in and filled the trans up with 2 quarts of 10w30 and took it for a trip round the block. When I got back I pulled in the gerage and the trans is leaking at the mid shaft hole. I put a new seal in and did the same thing and it was still leaking. Any thoughts?

So awile back the tranny in my crx si went to hell and I'm ready to replace it. I went to the boneyard yesterday and I found 2 that look the same. One is in an 88 civic dx and it looks identicle to what I'm replacing and the other is in an 06 civic and it looks the same except it has a hydraulic clutch. My question is which way should I go. I know they look the same but are the internals the same?

Airbag Module Reset, Rebuild, or New?

My S2000 was in a minor accident==a tree jumped out at me, the bag was nice enough to become a tasty marshmellow in my face...so some stickiness, some $$$ later, and a new airbag installed etc etc ... the airbag light is still on! Dealer wants an arm and a leg for a new module. Does anyone recommend a module repair or heard of module rebuilds? If so where/who? I heard about these dudes in ATL, myairbags -- $55 for complete repair/rebuild and back in just days...

Has anyone used this company? Recommend this avenue...? Y / N

Help please. "Door open" beeps continuously.

2004 Honda Accord EX Coupe V6

Today, first time, spontaneously, when I parked, took the key out and opened the door, the "beep beep beep beep . . . " alert started and continued no matter what I did. The door locks will not lock (either manually, with the switch in the armrest, or with the key remote). The car starts and runs fine, and when it is running, the beeping stops, but the IP shows a door/trunk open alert that stays on, even though all are securely closed. The "auto" setting of the dome light stays on, but the switches in the door frame work properly, shutting on and off the small lamps mounted inside the car doors.

What's amiss here? Is a sensor in the ignition switch gone bad? And if so, why would it result as an open door warning? And if a door open/closed sensor is bad, why would the alert beep continue after the key was removed?

Anyone had this occur or have any advice on what to check? Thanks

My loss your gain. I just bought this car last september. The 2.2 liter VTEC engine had just been rebuilt as well as tranny. I have put just around 7k miles on the engine before being rear ended which totaled the car. As of now the car starts and runs great, but i am thinking about taking the engine and tranny out and selling them seperately. Looking for someone to make a fair offer for the intact car before i go through all the labor of stripping it down piece by piece to sell. I need and want to sell quickly because i need the money for another car. The VIN is JHMBB1176RC001409. Forth through sixth digit is BB1 which is code for the Engine.

So i just swapped a b16a3 from a 95 del sol vtech into my car. I had a stock d16z6 harness running a b18b1 that didnt plug up. So i bought a b16 harness that plugs to almost evrything except the the grey plug on the vtec solenoid, I think thats the soleniod connecter my book calls it. With both harnesses that plug is the same. Should I be looking for a different harness or a different vtec soleniod? This is the only thing i need to finish the swap up so any help would be awesome. Anybody know or have an idea what i should have to do here?

Hi,

I have an accord 2005, and i'm having a problem with the TCS light turning on together with the check engine light and the ! light. these lights does not turn on when i start the car but it happens when i'm in the middle of driving. When these lights turn on i suddenly cannot accelerate, its as if my car is breaking by itself. If i turn my engine off and start it again the tcs light disappears but the ! light remain. if i reset the battery it is when all the lights turn off again. i had this checked at the dealer and they said the problem was on the break switch, so i had it replace, but the problem still occurred.

can anybody help? this has given me big problems especially when i'm travelling at a far distance.

1982 Honda Prelude

My husband has a 1982 Honda Prelude - red with gold pin striping - purchased in 1984 that because of memory loss he is no longer able to drive.
The exterior is in good condition because it has never been winter driven - indeed it only has 70,000 kilometers on it.
The car could use a paint job because the red - particularly on the trunk - has faded over the years.
The interior is original and is still functional but could use refinishing..
The tires are new last year and the car has been regularly serviced by the mechanics at Nutech Auto Repair in Trail BC
We know that a 1982 vehicle does not have much intrinsic worth any more but that as a collector's item it would be of more value.
Would anyone be able to give me a price for that I could reasonable ask for this piece of memorabilia that has been pampered for 28 years now.
Thank you!
