  7. my ass is back on HF....once in a while....

  8. oh i figured this was a prep-wash-wax-show type deal, so sorry for that. steel wool isn't overkill if there's a lot of film on the windows if they haven't been cleaned correctly in over 3 or 4 months....and it only takes 5 minutes. we do it to all new cars and trade-in full details at work.
  9. What about prep work? wheel wells (all purpose) bug and tar sponge (netted w/ all purpose or solvent) on front bumper or side skirts etc steel wool the windows w/ foam cleaner (do only once) a car will look horrible if the wheel wells are dirty and if there's bug/tar/road paint that didn't come off w/ the wash mit.....just some observations. Pressure washer is a good thing to have as well.

  11. for 2G's it should be pristine with 100% stock parts and no imperfections on the interior. also the motor should have no more than 65,000 miles on it for 2K. wtf.
  12. 2K for an '89? frackk that. mine was a grand.
  13. looking for a crx, ek, eg, or 1st gen integra shell. nothing else. offer is $300-$500 depending on the condition...
  14. we charge $300 b/c we split it two ways, and also a GOOD detail around here is no lower than $400. some places only charge $200 but they do a terrible job.
  15. you'll pay between $200-$400 depending where you go. me and my friend matt charge $300 for a full detail.
  16. i'm hear waiting too john...everything takes longer than expected with cars, two years with my car and i've just now got enough cash to do something to it.
  17. well yeah if i just painted a car then of course i would wet sand it, but that's not necessary any other time.
  18. i would never do it cranny's way. yeah, it may work but it's extremely risky. one slip and you've burned through to the primer. i'll just stick with cutting a car my way, the safe and effective way.
  19. Microfibers are great, but to get the intitial water off the car i prefer chamoise...much easier imo. i forgot trim dressing, wheel well dressing, and leather conditioner. i stick with Ardex b/c it's the best product i've used so far. i've used Car Brite, Zaino, Meguier's, Mothers, Eagle One, and all that bull sh!t stuff from pep boys, and nothing i've used brings a swirled and scratched black car back to "straight out of the showroom" look like Ardex. i don't know if you can buy it for personal use, it might only be for big businesses...
